David Hasselhoff was on 98 Rock (in Baltimore) this morning to do an interview to promote the new Van Halen record. Here's a transcript of some of the more interesting tidbits:

Interviewer: So why the long silence? I mean rumors were flying that you were in the band shortly after Cherone left.

Hasselhoff: Well, it's like this. We had to keep a lid on this because it's just so huge. This is going to be 100 times bigger than the sum of all 4 of us. Eddie, Alex and Mike have each told me that they have never felt this excited about the band before. We know we're going to blow the roof off the world when our record hits.

Interviewer: The record is titled "All Systems Go." Any word of some song titles?

Hasselhoff: Actually, that was the working title for the record. We're now looking at possibly changing the name. We all like the idea of calling it "Sewer Rat Roid Rage." As for some track titles, I can tell you the album opens with a song called "Looking for Freedom," and also features a rocked out cover of "If You're Happy and You Know It."

Interviewer: So, when will we see you guys on tour?

Hasselhoff: We're working on that right now. We hope to be on the road in the fall, with Josie and the Pussycats as our opener.

    Interviewer: Josie and the Pussycats?

Hasselhoff: Yeah, Spinal Tap was too busy and 2Gether wanted too much money. And besides, have you seen Rachael Leigh Cook in that cat suit? MEOW!

Interviewer: What about the rumored death metal solo album you were recording?

Hasselhoff: "Eat Your Mother Alive?" Oh yeah that's all still in the works. I work on that during breaks from recording with the guys.

Well there you have it folks! This fall Van Hasselhoff will be ready to rock us live! (Of course I'll be back stage partying with Josie LOL).
