This sounds like a cool project for a very worthy cause, and I applaud those of you who thought it up and are making it a reality -- you are better women and men than I.

I just have one question, and I swear I am being genuine and not trying to stir up shit -- are we sure that Ed actually has/had cancer? I haven't followed the soap opera quite as closely as some of y'all, but I do know I've read some statements in the media implying that he might not have. Was the question ever definitively resolved?

Have any of the organizers of Project 316 spoken with the Van Heineken camp and gotten some kind of confirmation or seal of approval? I would guess that Ed's people would not green-light this walkathon if he didn't have cancer.

    Can anyone shed some light?

Somebody wrote to me and told me that Ed did not actually have cancer, and that he went through a preventative treatment, but that was it. I don't know where they got their information.

In the big picture, who cares if he really did have cancer or not? We know he's healthy now, and it's between Ed and his doctor(s).

And we're not doing this walkathon just for Ed, but for all of our loved ones and family members and countless others that have suffered from the disease.

There's already a topic here dedicated to this event, so I'm closing this.
