I CANNOT for the life of me figure out why they never released "Put Out The Lights" - it's one of the best VH songs, period!

I have them streamed on the Un-Radio thing now. It's about time the complete set of those demos came out on a bootleg.

Never heard a real good clear version of that "Woman In Love" before. I don't know, I like that tune.

Brett, is there any chance of these showing up in download version in the future?

BTW, these sound awesome! It's like Van Halen with KISS production.

I might but right now these are the Army's gig, and I don't want to hear that I'm stealing their thunder or something. But yeah I'd like to have them here for download as well, they're excellent.

That's the part that intrigues me most - not just in the production, which is surprisingly good for a demo, but also that Eddie's apparently not playing through his standard rig. The tone just isn't what you've come to expect; and yet, his style is still unmistakable.

I believe Ed has talked about these before in an interview. He said they were flown to New York by Gene to record and they didn't use ANY of their own equipment, so that's why it's not Ed's tone. Also, the drums certainly don't have Al's sound at all, even his early club sound. Ed also said he struggled big time with all the overdubbing, he was never good at it.

I think Al's drumming is amazing on those demos! I'm hearing some great double-kick action on there. BTW, where did these come from? Did one of Gene's groupies steal this from his safe?

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the link!!!! These ROCK

You know, on another post, folks are debating whether or not Ed and Al are "in it for the money." If they were, why would it take 30+ years for hard core fans to finally get their hands on these songs? And for that matter, if it were money driven, where's the box set, the Fair Warning Show, etc, etc, etc?
