If you haven't already done so, and you like loud, raw, beer drinking, raisin' hell music, check out Black Label Society's "Sonic Brew". Why would I mention this you might ask?

Well, since Zakk Wylde and EVH are two of my three favorite guitarists ever, I have listened to both of them extensively. If you listen to track 9 on Sonic Brew (its called T.A.Z. i believe), see if you notice any similarities to Spanish Fly.

I definately think that there are parts in there that are reminiscent to EVH and Spanish Fly. I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed that -- and if you haven't go check it out. Zakk is an incredible guitarist and his music is powerful. Playing stuff that reminds me of Eddie is definately a plus too.

Oh man, I like Zakk Wylde alot, I haven't heard TAZ but I can't see how Eddie and his style would be all that similiar. Zakk is more southern Rock and stuff and Eddie seems different. I keep meaning to pick Sonic Brew and Book of Shadows but i keep forgetting. I'll need to do that.

I think allot of guys that play guitar well have allot a smilarities to Eddie. The TAZ song does sound like something Ed would do, to bad that Black Label Society stuff just completely sucks!

Zakk obviously respects Eddie. At the Ozzy show I went to last year, he inserted a little "Eruption" into his normal solo...It was awesome

I'll give it a listen.

I got to witness Zakk playing acoustic-style in a small club a couple years back. Amazing stage presence... you just KNEW he was a REAL rock star, even in this small club.

Also, the guy is an AMAZING keyboard player. And he's got a ton of soul. All in all, I was majorly impressed. It was just Zakk and one other guy with an acoustic on stage. Fantastic performance.

BC,

Is this group that did the song "Whatever happened to my Rock and Roll"? I've seen the video on M2, and it is a great song.

Burning Tires --

I saw the same show -- twice in fact. I saw it the first night in Austin, and then drove to houston for the show the next night. I loved it that much. Small venues, stage lit up by candles -- excellent atmosphere. I was also impressed with the multitude of instruments that he played......

I like Zakk's stuff with Ozzy a lot. But I haven't heard anything form BLS yet.

I love Zakk, but the BLS stuff, I just don't get.
It sounds very much like a mix of southern rock and really dark and heavy metal; pretty weird...
Knowing what Zakk is capable of, I fail to see the interest in this project of his. Compared to what Zakk does with Ozzy, BLS is just not good enough for him.
