You mean as far as Grammy's or things like that? Not as far as I know. Although, Eddie did win virtually every "Best Guitarist of the Year" award during the Dave-era. Of course back then it wasn't on a major awards show, it was more through Guitar Player Magazine and the like.

Ahh, the good old days ...
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

"A lot of bands mature, which means they get square; they start delivering messages. Hey, you got a message, use Western Union." -DLR

Respect the Wind was up for a Grammy, can't recall if they won it or not.

They also won best video of the year for "Right Now" on MTV's music awards.

Seems like they've been nominated for best rock album for Balance, but didn't win it.

Glenn, little help?

Jump was nominated for a Grammy, but didn't win. The Grammy's are such bullshit. I don't remember who they were up against, but I bet they lost out to Bob Dylan or Jethro Tull or some crap like that.
Could this be magic?

I believe they won "Billboards" rock album of the year with F.U.C.K in '91.....I could be wrong though, it happens once in awhile.

As for the Dave years, they didn't win any major awards that I'm aware of.

They won an AMERICAN MUSIC AWARD for best rock group record in 1991 for FOR UNLAWFUL CARNAL KNOWLEDGE. They beat Metallica and Guns n' Roses on that one.
They also won 3 MTV Awards for the RIGHT NOW video I think that was 1992.
I don't know if they have ever won any Grammy yet.
GOOD QUESTION.
I have those on tape if you are interested.

They won an MTV award for Jump. I don't remember the category but I remember DLR accepting. One of the Guitar mags gave Ed player of the decade for the '80's. Girl I was going out with at the time, not a fan, said they should save everyone some time and give Ed the title at the start of each deacade!LOL!

I think that they won a Grammy for For Unlawful Carnel Knowlegde, I know that they were nominated. Maybe I am confusing it with the AMA's.
'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

Yeah it all kinda runs together because VH never got the props they deserved. From '80-'84 they were the biggest rock band on the planet. Nobody could touch them.
