I live in the New York City area and have noticed alot more old VH being played on NY & NJ radio stations over the last 2 or 3 weeks. How about the rest of the country?

Same here. Not sure if it's a sign, but hey, listening to old VH is always good.

My local classic rock station has been playing a lot of old VH also. One night, the DJ was asking people whether they prefered Dave or Sammy and out of about four callers, all of them said Dave. Then the DJ said "I guess David Lee Roth rules the northwest."

Every couple months, everyone insists that there's an influx of Dave-era VH on the radio. Me, I think it's just what we'd like to believe.

Sorry laner and all VHL'ers, but that ain't the case. On my station, we play more Dave era than Sammy just because it's what more of our listeners prefer. I don't have the exact figures in front of me, but most radio music research results I've seen reflects more positive results for DLR stuff than Sammy stuff. NOT that Sammy stuff is bad (I personally like BOTH eras quite a bit), but most of our listeners like DLR VH the best. Those listeners ALSO dig solo Sammy a lot, too.

Don't let your imagination get the best of you. God's honest truth...99% of radio stations out there have NO idea of what is going on. Some big time stations in big time markets COULD have a direct line of contact to some VH people, but I believe we're still about 2-3 months away. Call it a gut feeling...that's all it really is. Trust me, if I EVER get any type of indication of what's going on, THIS is the first place I bring it.

Honest truth, I've heard a lot more Sammy lately.

Of course, this week has been pretty good to me. I usually hear one song on the radio in the morning before I put my CD in. Thursday it was Black and Blue, today it was ...And the Cradle Will Rock.

Makes me wonder what I'll hear tomorrow... Without You?

Well where i live, all of the rock stations have pretty much always played mostly Dave era stuff. They do play Van Hagar here and there, but mostly its Dave. Panama, Jamies cryin', You Really got me and Pretty Woman get played all the time.
