This week-end, on Sunday at 9PM, KLOS is playing a live VH concert, recorded by Westwood One. Now they haven't said if it's gonna be a Sam erea one or a Dave era one.
The only Westwood One VH show that I know of was recorded while Sam was in the band.

PS: They will also play a live Soundgarden concert during that show...

The Westwood one show was recorded turing the F.U.C.K. Tour, most likely in Fresno 05/14-15/92.
I remember Ed once mentioned that this show was mixed by Ed and Al, and later they wanted to release it as a live record, but they weren´t satisfied with it, so they brought in Andy Johns and some other shows that were recorded and made live RHRN.

If I remember right the live show with Gary was Westwood One.Wasn't it?
Are we going to have to wait for Wolfie to start his own band before we get another Van Halen CD?

If I lived anywhere near LA, I'd be listening. I don't think the frequency of KLOS would reach Connecticut.

EVH: Definitely. Playing guitar was my sanctuary. It was the one place I could go to if I got fucked around by a girlfriend, or anyone else, for that matter. It still is. If there’s something I can’t deal with, I can just spend hours playing. It’s a God-given gift – I certainly don’t know where the ideas come from. They’re obviously given to you, and you have to keep your fingers moving and your mind quiet. I try my best to not think about thinking, so I can just let it flow. Because when I start thinking, forget it. <br />So....why he isn't playing guitar ? ? ?

WW has two VH concert recording that I know of. The one tease mentioned and they recorded one in '98 with Gary, think it was March of that year, can't remember right now, it rocked, but the Sam show was better.

Here's a link to a boot of the show the 98 WW show was taken from. The Westwood discs have interviews included.

I have both on CD, and I have to say that the one from '92, which later became "L:RHRN", sounds MUCH better in the raw, unmixed version. It actually sounds like a live album, and not the "live" abum that was later released as "L:RHRN". You have to weed thru the commercials that are included with the 2 CD set, but I prefer this set to "L:RHRN".
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."

"I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

The best one (radio show) is the Album Network '98 show from Pitt. It really rocks, it should've gotten released as a live album. I heard they were seriously considering it before they broke up.

I was at this show. It was on Gary's Birthday.

The promoted it as a show from Pittsburgh......but some/most/all of it was from their performance at Hershey Park at the Star ?? Ampitheater.

One of the better VH shows I had attended. Great venue......no roof......sounded awesome!

I got hooked up with some CDR's of the show. Despite Ed's "harsh" tone......the CD's sound ten times better than RHRN.....which is way "over produced" with crowd noise and bullshit. The 98 show sounds like an awesome bootleg.
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

I caught the last couple songs, "You Really got Me/Cabo", "Jump", & "In n' Out". so I'm pretty sure it was the Fresno Show.
