You'd have to think it was dave, as far as I know its been a staple of his live shows since he left VH, plus the entire 1984 tour. Sammy refused to do it the first couple of VH tours he fronted if I remember rightly

I dunno. How many shows were played on the 1984 tour? And the subsequent solo tours in the 80s? ALAE broke down partway through. How many dates was the YFLM tour?

At first glance, I'm thinking, "what a dumb question". Yet, the more I think about it, it seems to be a pretty good research topic. I'm sure some fanatic out there will give us a good estimate.

I think Sammy used to pull people up on stage to sing Jump early on, so I'd have to say Dave has sung it more.

Well, I guess you'd have to compare tour dates:

    1984 vs. 5150
    EEAS vs. OU812
    Skyscraper vs. For Unlawful../RHRN
    ALAE/YFLM vs. Balance
DLR Band/Dave Saves The Day vs... well, I doubt Sam does it much in concert any more...

Ah, the replacement singer didn't want to sing a song from the band's period with its original singer.

Now what does that tell you?

This might seem like a stupid question, but when it comes to singing Jump live, who's done it more: Dave or Sammy?

I GOTTA SAY THE DIAMOND ONE HAS SANG IT MORE.I'VE BEEN TO A COUPLE OF SHOWS BY ROTH THE LATEST BEING IN BOISE IDAHO WHERE THE DLR BAND OPENED UP FOR BAD COMPANY A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, AND HE SANG IT THEN AS WELL AS THE TIME BEFORE WHEN I SAW HIM. SO IF HE PLAYS IT EVERY SHOW THEN THAT'S 13 YEARS OF JUMPING FOR THE ROTH MAN.

Good question. Does anyone know what DLR's set lists from the EEAS and Skyscraper tours were like? My guess would be Dave, but it could be Sammy.

I don't know, didn't Sam do it on every tour except the 5150 tour? Of course now he doesn't, so DLR can catch up.

I've got a bootleg from the eat 'em tour in Fresno and jump aint on it.
Sammy refused to sing it at all on the ou812 tour so it's probably about even steven.

    Or is it?

The Fresno '86 bootleg is not complete show...2 last songs were omitted...

Typical EEAS setlist included Jump as an encore, as well as every other DLR solo tour ever since. I'm 99% sure it was played every night (don't know about the Las Vegas days though).

So the question is how many times Dave has performed live since 1985 compared to Sammy VH dates.

No question about it, Dave's the clear winner.

    DLR

I have very little info and only a smattering of boots from the ALAE and YFLM tours, so the approximations I've given are only a gross estimation at best.

    1984 Tour - 105+ times
    EEAS Tour - 100+ times
    Skyscraper Tour - 100+ times
ALAE Tour - approx. 70+ times
YFLM Tour - approx. 50+ times
    '99/'01 Tours - 70+ times

    Sammy

Since Sammy didn't sing it live from 1986-89, we'll start in 1991:

    FUCK Tour - 110+ times
    RHRN Tour - 60+ times
Balance Tour - approx 25-40 times

    Dave total: approx. 495 times
    Sammy total: approx. 195-210 times

If you don't count the 1984 tour, Dave's sung "Jump" solo almost twice as much as Sammy has with the band.
