i have seen threads about the lead singer and guitar players but nothing about the drummer. do they do a good job of sounding like AL? and are there any bands that do SAM era tunes only?

There's the Links search on tribute bands. I've never seen a VH tribute band, unfortunately.

5150 does a great Sammy era tribute, but they're leaving the circuit next month to concentrate on their own original music. There's a new Sammy era band that was just added to the tribute band site here on the links. We do mainly Dave era stuff. Actually we're playing tonight, and I'm leaving for a sound check in about an hour. I get to try the gator grip and dunlop stubby picks out tonight.

Glenn, we've decided to start video taping some gigs later this summer, something we haven't done yet, so I'll send you a copy if you want.

TRIBB!! I want to see you guys play! I'm going to check out your website now!

The only tribute bands I've seen are 5150 and Fair Warning, and I can't say that I ever said, "Wow, he sounds just like Alex" when listening to either drummer. Anyway, AVH has a very distinctive style. I *love* the way Corpy from 5150 plays but to say that he's "just like Alex" would probably not be true!

I imagine the Punks' drummer does a great job though...

5150 is a Sammy-era tribute, but they also do Dave tunes. More Dave tunes than Sammy ever did.
