In this article at Billboard.com about the upcoming Duran Duran reunion record, producer Nile Rodgers is quoted as saying:

"There are two big dreams of mine: one is to produce a Van Halen record with David Lee Roth on vocals, and the other dream was to produce an album with the original Duran Duran lineup," Rodgers says. "One of those dreams has come true. The guys in Duran Duran look and sound amazing. Doing this album has been a phenomenal experience for me."

Nile Rodgers producing a VH Reunion record? That would be interesting.

Nile has also produced records by David Bowie, Slash, Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton and INXS.

Billboard Magazine estimates that Nile Rodgers has been the driving force behind the sales of three and half billion dollars worth of records.

He's a legendary producer and a pretty good guitarist, too.

And since you're seem strangely obsessed with David Lee Roth's genitals, you'll be glad to know that many of the 70's disco hits at your local gay bar were also produced by Nile.

    </font>
LOL!

About the best thing about Nile Rodgers (or anybody else, for that matter) producing a new VH record with DLR would be the existence of a new VH record with DLR.

I generally don't pay attention to producers unless there's something about a record I don't like and I'm looking to assign blame...

Thank you for that most informative piece of gay information. Your explanation and defense of Nile made me moist!

The man is a legendary producer who couldn't do any worse then Mike Post. Plus, Dave has worked with him before.

The record with Sensible Shoes was called A Little Aint Enough and it was produced by Bob Rock.

Dave's follow-up, Your Filthy Little Mouth was produced by Nile Rodgers. Sonically speaking, Nile didn't take Dave anywhere he wasn't fully willing to go and while you may not appreciate the songs on YFLM, the record is beautifully mixed.

As for VH3, I don't know if it was all Mike Post's fault, but that record is one of the worst sounding to come out from a major label in recent memory.

Frankly, I couldn't care less who produces a VH reunion record as long as we eventually get one. I just think it's interesting that the guy who wrote Le Freak (Nile Rodgers w/ Chic) is such a big VH fan.

I bet alot of big rock producers dream about being behind the boards of a VH reunion album.

If it happens, my money's on Bob Rock. He's worked with DLR in the past and read somewhere he almost did VH's "Balance".

I think that would be GREAT!! Get a little soul in the Van halen sound. Both Dave, and Alex would like that. Alex claims to be a jazz musician. Dave claim to be a black man trapped in a Jewish mans body.

Lance is on the ball - YFLM is "beautifully mixed".

I think ALAE is a better album - songwise. But the production on Filthy is A LOT!!! better. Its more fuller, thicker sounding.
