I don't think Freddie would have had plastic surgery at all. He didn't even want to do anything about his teeth, because he was too afraid it could have a bad influence on his voice.

“We all know that Freddie Mercury had very strange teeth," said Rudi Dolezal, an Austrian TV icon who made documentaries about the star. “[W]e would all ask ourselves, 'A guy who was that rich, why didn't he change his teeth?' He was very afraid that if he changed his teeth that his particular sound of [his voice] would go away. So he was more concerned with his voice than his looks, and I think that says a lot about the man.”

I see a lot of votes for Freddie and I considered it, and then saw the comments about Mercury dying young... but then add to that if Dave died 30 years ago and never lost his voice, etc

Question is how much do we factor in songwriting ability? McCartney would be a shoe in if it's about songwriting. If it's about voice, then no way. If it's about both, then you have to try to balance it out.

I'm trying to consider all facets of the front man. If it was songwriting, it would most likely end up being Lennon vs McCartney. I don't really consider either of them "frontmen" however. I know McCartney had Wings and obviously a solo career. But the fact that I don't consider them traditional "frontmen" hurt them in my picks.

You're comparing Roth's voice in his prime to Mercury's??

I chose Paul for his entire carrier... not just Beatles. He was definitely a front man in Wings and all his solo endeavors.

Freddie is going to win, but I'll take prime Dave's voice, screams, songwriting, showmanship all day.

I think the problem is comparing a Roth or Jagger, to a Mercury or Perry.

Dave & Mick are like character actors, they just sound unique and fit the sound of their respective
    bands.

Freddie & Steve Perry are guys that are traditional, powerful singers.

If you want a pretty voice, go with Mercury.

If the Rush fanboys are gonna vote Geddy over Ray, then the Gravers can vote Dave over Fred.

Pretty much a big part of why Dave and Bon are by FAR my all time favorite frontmen.

    Bon is another great example.

No one sounds like him, he's 100 percent Bon.

If someone said Dio or Bon?
I'm going with Bon, even though i know Dio is technically the better singer.

Of course, i'm talking about Bon Jovi...

Bon sounds like Roger Rabbit. Love that guy. Their uniqueness is what made he and Dave so great.
