That whole intro section before the vocals start Ed is on fire with the Eddie-isms as you said. Love Al's straightforward rock drumming on it too, and he has that sweet cowbell fill he does as well.

I will say, that this tune was the one VH song where Jason Bonham actually really shined on. I dont like his heavy handedness on the other VH tunes the Circle play, but he was ripping it up on this one in those Lockdown Sessions.

Good Enough is Ed still riding and taming lightning. Sammy's opening salvo was perfect for the introduction of a new Van Halen. The harmonies are just fantastic and Al nails it, per usual.

Again, Humans Being is an awesome tune. It's haunting and menacing, and I love the lyrics. But, it ain't Good Enough!

DTNA came on WZLX, and i just LOVE the drum sound on that thing, from the cowbell into the fill into the beat.

When they remastered VHII, Alex sounded so great in the mix.

Drums on VHII do sound great. Maybe my favorite live sound on tour for him too. Those drums on the Tuscon and San Diego boots sound amazing.

Sammy does a radio show every Saturday night, and the guy is a GREAT DJ.

He is really knowledgable, and all his shows have a theme.
This week it was "Artists from big bands, that became huge solo artists (Peter Gabriel,
Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett, Phil Collins, etc.)

But he is a really good DJ, with really good stories and between song banter.

    Completely agree.

That Tucson '79 boot is jawdropping.

    What a show!

The energy and over the top playing from that show honestly makes the band sound like they were in mud on LWAN. I should clarify, mainly Alex and Mike. Mike because he was relegated to a lot of 8th note repeating runs by 5150, but Alex because he just seems tired to me on LWAN. He doesnt do any of the big fills during the outro to "5150" that are on the album, and his fills on Get Up were half the speed of what he played on the album version. Contrast that to a lot of the DD and 1984 boots and how he plays the Simmons pads on those two tours.

That Tuscon show, and pretty much every tour up to 1984, Alex just never seemed to run out of energy on any show I've heard. Maybe it was the cocaine lol.

Tucson coulda/shoulda been released as an official document, just like LWAN.

They did a radio battle of Live VH with Sammy vs. Roth.

The only live Roth stuff they had was Tokyo Dome, and they put that up against
    stuff from RHRN & LWAN.

The DJ's were snickering, between sets, saying, Poor Dave....

If Tucson had been in the mix, it would have been the definitive Live Roth era.

It just sucks that every era is represented with live stuff except the most important one. The one where they became famous for killing it live.

That's like the Stones not having one piece of live, anything, from '69-'74.

Tuscan 2004 should be released as an official document as well.

I wish there was more video from that last night.
