All 3 of those 2004 tunes sound rushed and uninspired to me. Not surprising, considering what was happening at the time …

UFB also could've been a much better track. The instrumentation is crafted well enough, but Sam's rush job with the lyrics, plus the flat production, made it a subpar entry.

The intro sounds like a sampled hybrid of Why Can't This Be Love and Fire In The Hole.

I despise It's About Time. Sounds like a Limp Bizkit leftover.

IAT is obviously the worst of the bunch. Was awful live too.

Here's the setlist from my fairly awesome 2004 gig at Staples Center.

    You Really Got Me
    Runaround
    Humans Being
    Up for Breakfast
    Bass Solo
    Somebody Get Me a Doctor
    Poundcake
    It's About Time
    Drum Solo
    Dreams
    Unchained
    Why Can't This Be Love
    Rainy Day Women #12 & 35
    Eagles Fly
    Hallelujah
    The Seventh Seal
    Best of Both Worlds
    Guitar Solo
    (with Wolfgang Van Halen)
    Top of the World
    Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love
    Right Now

    Encore:
    Jump
    Panama

    Encore 2:
    When It's Love

Obviously there are a number of issues with this setlist, first and foremost closing with WIL. Which I was not thrilled about. Though the LA crowd ate it up anyway. IAT was the diehard and crowd lowlight, clearly.

But...Sam's rendition of Rainy Day Women was great. Runaround slayed. Humans Being dominated. Unchained killed. UFB was damn good live, much different than the record. ATBL tore the house up (personal fave of mine, that time ). Poundcake and 7th Seal rocked. Mike sang SGMAD, and it was great. Pretty solid show overall, but again, my proximity helped.

Still the loudest VH show I ever heard. Ouch.

We currently have 3 ties and if these 3 match ups are still tied at 10:00 pm PST tonight, my votes will break the ties and decide the winners.
