    LOL. Exactly!
Seemingly, wasn't doing well at all, by the sound of Dave's comments.

Don't know why people would expect anything at this point.

I dunno how to say this: there has to be some degree of embarrassment on Wolf's part. He's talked about his album for years, and then almost a *year* ago, he's on his Mom's show, to celebrate his "going out on the road" soon. At the risk of sounding crass, in any other business, the response would be "put up or shut up."

    So what's the hold up?

It'sMike once came out with an excellent marketing scheme, which used Van Halen to give Wolf a huge head start. Wolf's laid back work ethic won't get him anywhere, so I gotta believe that EVH is in the plan somewhere, to some degree.

On the flipside, just as easily, I can see EVH being retired. It could be one or the other.
In retrospect that's the feeling I got as well. Mike was the play. Bring Mike back they don't have to do another record. They have something to promote for the tour. And that would propel Wolf into an opener position. He could promote his record.

Agreed...I don't see any other way around it; in what other way would Wolf get his thing rolling?

Moreover, if that isn't the plan, then why has he been stalling all this time?

I think that's been the plan all along, which was stalled because of EVH's health; obviously there's a new record waiting in the wings, as DLR remarked that it's so (new music). Whether or not this will see the light of day, I dunno, but I can't shake the feeling that EVH is involved with Wolf's launch.

Makes sense why the beach house and Ed have parted ways... Thanks for clarifying.

Someday, when he's in his 70's, maybe he writes and records a classical symphony.
And they play it at The Hollywood Bowl.
    Would love that.

I have that on disc somewhere...I was disappointed by his classical work to be honest.

He should have released something when he was still really young.

He would have gotten more press, and more interest.

Once you hit 30, you are no longer the "wiz kid," i guess.

Sounds like they keep holding onto this thing, trying to find the optimal time.
It's so silly, just put it out.
How strategic can you be, with a solo album only a few are aware of?
It's not like Axl Rose teasing the public with something tucked and ready to go.

It's borderline delusional; every several months of so, Wolf puts out a brief clip, trying to remain relevant.

What he doesn't seem to understand, is that the people who follow him closely, largely consist of the fanbase that he's labored to alienate (since 2015), with his snarky crap.

At this point if he releases it, great. If not, Iím not losing an ounce of sleep over it and neither is Wolf, I imagine. The people he cares about most have heard it and love it. Thatís the main thing.

I do find it mildly amusing though, that this album has been worked on for the better part of 5 years and hasnít come close to seeing the light of day.

Something in that Van Halen blood post-1995 that just slows the output riggggghhhhhhtttttt dowwwwwwwwwwwwn.
