The Air Force did a flyover of our hospitals today to salute our front line workers. I work across the street from a hospital and we went out and watched as they just flew over a minute ago. It was really cool! Lots of hospital workers and police/fire guys were out front of the hospital to watch. It just lasted a minute but was actually kind of moving. It's always impressive when those fighter jets fly by, especially so close to the ground.

Can't get over how cool it is that John Kransinski is doing SGN. I look forward to it each week.

Anyway, for any fans of Community, a "Zoom" table read of an episode from season 5 will be on the show's YouTube channel next Monday at 2pm. Donald Glover will be back, but it is an episode without Chevy Chase.

Pedro Pascal will be filling in for Walton Goggins, who guest starred on that particular episode.

Keith Urban just did a free concert for health care workers....at a drive in movie theater! He always just strikes me as a really decent guy

    from msn.com

Keith Urban's drive-in concert could be a prototype for this summer's live music
Thanks to Keith Urban, about 200 healthcare workers from Vanderbilt University Medical Center got a little live music break on Thursday, May 15. The country star played an unannounced concert at the Stardust Drive-In about 40 miles outside of Nashville, Tenn., as a way to show his gratitude for the hard work doctors, nurses, emergency technicians and others continue to do on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. "To all of you guys here tonight, for everything that you've done, and continue to do, to all of your families, we say thank you -- this concert is for you," Keith said as he kicked off the show, according to USA Today. In a press release, he said he staged the hour-long performance to "say thanks to the healthcare workers who are putting their lives on the line for us every day." The venue reportedly kept the audience to half capacity, welcoming about 125 cars. As the show got underway, concert-goers enjoyed the music from inside or on the hoods of their cars, or from chairs next to their vehicles, which were parked 15 to 20 feet away from one another. The theater also broadcast a live feed on the movie screen behind Keith and his accompanist. "It was a lot of fun," Keith said Friday on "Today." "We didn't know what to expect. So to some extent, from a performance standpoint, it was a bit of a proof-of-concept show, to figure out what works and what doesn't. But we also really wanted to take the opportunity to not only do the first one but do it for the health care workers ... they did an amazing job as an audience." Other drive-in concerts are reportedly slated to take place in other states in the coming weeks, but Keith's set was the first major show of its kind since the pandemic began. His new album, "The Speed of Now Part 1," is due out in September

Things are opening up here as we have the virus under control at this point thanks to an early shutdown, early testing regime and contact tracing. We'll see how the numbers go as the staged opening goes over 2 week bursts.

So, yesterday we practiced a bit of social distancing and went diving. It was great to do something different. No sign of covid under the surface.

Agreed. I think Alex Skolnic was using stock Alex Lifeson amp presets on that one.

A favorite Maiden tune, played through by Judas Priest’s Richie Faulkner (guitar), and Joe Lazarus (drums).

My daughter's high school graduation is this weekend and it will be mostly live and normal! We're excited as up until last week they were going to make it either a video graduation or a "drive inn" style where we all had to sit in our cars. Now, we get to sit together as a family, outside on their grassy lawn and watch the thing live on an outdoor stage. We even get individually wrapped food boxes (can't do anything here without food!) and can give leis. We just can't put the leis on the kids ourselves... This is the first event the coronavirus hasn't completely ruined for her senior class.
