Wow, that's a blast form the past. I probably would never have heard or thought about that song again had you not posted it. Thanks! Good tune. I always thought the singer sounded quite a bit like Ozzy.

I remember thinking that too but I listened to it recently and liked it alot. Firefly is a great song.

Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw sound fantastic together

I dig this tune, especially when it kicks into gear around 2:20 …

"It's so lonely at the top because it's so crowded at the bottom" - Diamond David Lee Roth

"The truth sounds like hate to those who hate the truth" - Todd Wagner

Oh yeah, forgot about Dont Tell Me. I never really liked that one much, either. I'm just not much of a fan of them. I won't turn them off the radio, unless it's Sister Christian, but I'll never buy one of their albums. They are good players, though.

Was never a big Night Ranger fan, but "Sister Christian" is an 80's classic, used to great effect later
on, in Boogie Nights (what a scene).

Remember they had that same girl in all the videos?

She's the one who plays Sister Christian, and get's startled when Brad Gillis unplugs his
guitar (i just remember her dropping her books).

The "motoring" part is a cool reference to the 60s/70s car culture of central California.

Ah, that 70s culture of central California.

Central California has some very odd 'burgs and haunts hidden in the ag flatlands between the 5 and the Sierra.

It's an incredible chorus, for sure.
And the "It's true" part, where it builds up to it.

I guess the song was originally called, Sister Christy.
It was about the drummer's sister.

But then the Producer said, make it Sister Christian, and we have a nice theme going.

Peter Criss had a similar thing going with his tune, BECK (meaning Becky, im guessing).

But Bob Ezrin said, "Who's Beck? Jeff Beck? Call it Beth..."

James Dean's fatal car accident took place near Chloame, CA in San Luis Obispo County. Have you ever been there?

Many times. I had an ex girlfriend that ended up moving out to her Dad's in Shandon, the only town near there outside of Paso. Eaten at Jack's Cafe, which is right next to the memorial site for Dean.

Kern County has a lot of meth and backwater hillbillies. Modesto is a hotspot for all manner of California drudgery. You know that old saying about California's 4 armpits, don't ya?

Stockton, Fresno, Bakersfield, and San Bernardino.

Honorable mentions? Victorville, Needles, Chula Vista/Imperial City, Desert Hot Springs/Cathedral City.

Up north, Sacto can be pretty desperate in parts too.

Sacto's Arco Arena was where I caught Stevie Ray/Jeff Beck live, a few months before the crash.

I have a very good friend I've known since kindergarten who loves SRV like we love EVH. We had a group text going the other day and he didn't believe me when I told him I saw SRV open for Bonnie Raitt at The Greek Theatre back in 1986. I did.

We had rafter seats, and the Arco Arena didn't have ideal acoustics, but nonetheless...SRV live was beyond words.

Forward to the 1:15 mark and just listen to and watch this guy play …

Outside of Edward, a finer gunslinger, there ain't. And Stevie does out-emote Eddie, by country miles. I doubt there's ever been a player who translates soul better than SRV.

In School, we used to sing "Sister Christian" as "Twisted sister, you're a...."

    It fits!
