Well, corporate made it's announcements today, and out came the layoff scythe. Luckily, it missed me, but took out a major chunk of my department, and from every other department.

So for now, I am still marked "essential." Or is that "sacrificial?"

Had a woman pull into the dealership this last Wednesday. One of our service advisers opens the truck door, leans in and plugs in the scan tool. As she does this the customer tells her "This my husbands truck. He's in the hospital because of Covid." The customer then reaches into the truck and put on a mask. "I'm not sick." she said. "But I'm still waiting for my test results."

    Fucking idiot.

No frills or toppings, but organic tomatos, real mozzarella (and a lot of it), organic flour...

I figured it would suck, but picked it up, anyway.

So i put the thing in today, and it puffed up like an actual REAL, restaurant pizza.

    Then i ate it....

My God, this was easily THE best frozen pizza i've ever tasted!
The crust was perfection, the cheese, the tomatos.....

It made Digornos & Red Baron seem like cardboard, in comparison.

And nobody was buying this brand!
There were tons of them, while all the other brands were sold out.

I will risk my health, and go back.
Amy's is supposed to be healthy and organic....and it is organic. But all that stuff is fatty and cheesy and high in sodium! Very high calorie counts on everything. I like the cheese enchiladas tho.

So, everyone they furloughed at the beginning of April at my work are all back as of 4/21. On 5/1, we will be running at full staff, and hours of operation will go back to pre-April schedules.

    This is all so crazy.

Was told today I am WFH until mid July, and that our building probably won't be fully open (meaning ALL staff allowed in the building at once) for OVER A YEAR.

That's actually really smart in my opinion. Anyone who can work from home should for the foreseeable future.

I would opt to work from home for the rest of my career if I had a real say in it.

Same, it's been great. I get up and get straight into it, so I can finish up earlier most days, take the dog for a run etc..

I think a lot of companies will realize (1) they can save a lot of money having staff work from home and (2) legal may have a hard time forcing people back until there's a vaccine.

I won't lie, for the past month it's kind of felt like an extended paid vacation to me. I'm supposed to start my shift in 3 hours, I couldn't sleep so I'll just start in 30 minute and wrap it up early. As long as I do my quota, nobody will even care.

    (2) is the card I'll play purely due to the nature of my job (large international network with management sending people back and forth between NCSA/EMEA and occasionally APAC).

I have no problem with not spending 2-3 hours in my car everyday and the $30 in tolls per day.

    It's been a real savings.

yup, I find that I'm working a lot more than i usually due just due to the saved commute. I'm up at 6 am anyways. But instead of walking into the office at 8:30, I'm logging in at 6:30. I think companies might realize this might work out for everyone. The more I think about this the more I think we're not going back to our office until they have a vaccine. Which for me is great but there's a whole lot of businesses that are supported by all those office workers that might have a different opinion.

The general sentiment from my colleagues is that one half loves it, another half hates it. This is an excellent way go tell introverts from extroverts, I suppose. Some people are down right depressed AF when they can't socially interact with others, they keep taking "comfort breaks" to calm themselves down, which greatly affects their productivity, whereas my productivity is through the roof right now.

The only thing that really sucks is that all the cleaners and the office maintenance people have been furloughed or potentially laid off.

I hate working from home. I work in sales and I donít like to do sales over the phone I feel like a fucking telemarketer or something. And I get way too distracted at home. I really had to change my ways of doing work and itís been hard. But Iím happy to still have a job and be able to take care of my family.

yeah, sales would be a bitch working from home. A lot of that job is about the personal connection you have with people. I think over the next little while we're going to see a situation where the government just says it's up to the individual employee. If one can work from home, they'll need to be allowed to. I'm guessing that's a good percentage of people. Just removing them from the equation may help some.
