I’ve pre ordered it through a imported record shop in Sydney. I’m supporting local businesses.

He preordered both Rising & the Ted book.
He's super excited to read both!

    I will.

Chris still won't let me live down my ongoing Allman Brothers fixation.

He said, "Greg & Duanne couldn't even carry Ed & Al's jockstraps..."

A bit harsh, but we all like what we like.

I'm a big ABB fan too and love my Van Halen....But to compare the two sets of brothers is rather difficult it seems to me. One thing I think we can all agree on is all four are uniquely talented in their own way and when combined with the talent of the other members of their respective bands, are even more impressive.

Reading the official description on amazon, I get the feeling that Jump excerpt might be the majority of VH behind-the-scenes in the book.

I too don't think it's gonna necessarily be heavy on the VH dish. Ted's got a wide career outside of them.

But the writer, Gregg Renoff, is a HUGE VH nut, just like us.

It's gonna be loaded with Halen studio details, you betcha.

And VH was a big part of Ted's career.
    a huge success.

    Wait.

Chris was a diehard ABB fan. He adored Gregg Allman.

Ted's had an interesting career, I'll pick up a copy just because I think it will be a good read. Anything VH will be a bonus. Might have already been mentioned, but just in case it hasn't, the cover picture is from the WACF sessions.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    To recap:

Chris refused to read "Rising," thus my first joke.

Secoond, he worshipped the Allmans, thus the other joke.

I figured all would get it was in fun.

Gregg makes Heisenberg look like a casual fan.

My feeling is the Ted book was originally going to be about Ted's interactions
with the band, on those first six records, but then he decided to make it a true bio.

But knowing Renoff's healthy obsession with VH, i'd be shocked if he glossed over
    that portion of Ted's career.

But i'm sure it will be loaded with other stuff, as well.
