I really love that tune, as well.

The solo just gets me off, something about it.

And his tone is different on the Rhythm guitar.
There's an open Townshend element happening, at one point.

Sounds like P-90's or single coils.
    More Punchy.

Oh yes, i also had the PLAYBOY issue with Paulina on the cover.

The old guy wouldn't sell it to me, i was still a teen, so i went back & stole it.
This was Richdale's in Newburyport, MA.
    Shoved it in my pants.
Not proud, but he wouldn't take my money.

    And this poster!

    My God, she was gorgeous.

They showed her at like 15 or 16, pre modeling, and it seemed obvious she
was destined to be a supermodel.

I had both her posters, all the SI swimsuit issues with her, plus the calendar!
    The calendar was hot, too.

My bed was in this corner nook in my room, surrounded by a Paulina shrine.

My EVH posters and clippings were on the other wall, away from my bed.
I did. So weird that he bumped her and the older kids outta the will. Yeah, lots of folks are saying it's cuz she cheated on him, maybe. It's just as likely that given Ocasek's weirdness over the years, he just got cranky and addled near the end. She seems genuinely put out...I don't think it was her deal, but who knows.

This is the most iconic 80's poster of hers that I had...me and every other Gen X dude I knew...

She just did this 'ageism' spread in Grazia magazine last year...I still think she's a goddess.

And yeah, that Playboy was the ONLY Playboy I ever actively sought out....LOL, I didn't have to steal it, my local liquor store guy was our weed dealer too, so he was fine parting one to me.

The only celeb icon I adored more as a kid was Marilyn..

I never did the whole VH clippings/articles/wall spreads. I had one VH poster in the bedroom as a kid. This iconic one, of course...

Yeah, a woman at work guessed it was infidelity on Paulina's end, especially
    with the age difference.

My guess is it happened long ago, and Paulina thought they had moved past it.
    But Ric harbored a grudge.

    Who knows?

To leave out his older children, seems kinda harsh as well.

But he had Paulina in her prime years & beyond.

I'd be on my death bed, saying: Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

As for money, she had all these multi million dollar deals with Estee Lauder, etc.

She had to have as much money as him, probably more.
She was the face of the 80's, a super-Super model.

I don't have a copy on me, but Paulina's public statements regarding their split, and then later, his death were very eloquent, mature and well-written. I was impressed for some reason. Looks and brains!?

Yeah, she was always charming and somewhat self deprecating.

I remember her talking about her "ugly duckling" looks as a young teen, on some show
in the 80's, and then they show a pic, and it's basically her in miniature form.

    I was like, Riiiiggghhhhtttt.....

The fact that she was the one who discovered his body, illustrates the kind of loyalty she
    had towards him.

He was recovering from surgery, and she was checking on him or bringing coffee.

She has no real closure, just this resentment towards her she didn't know was there.

    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

Over time, Iíve come to appreciate bits and pieces of the record. But itís still hard to swallow, to this day. Loved that tour, though, no doubt.

Gary was a champ, singing all eras, and the band was tight. Ed was playing great, and also really enjoyed KWS Band opening the show.
My exact thoughts on that entire "era", summed up perfectly. 👍🏻

Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
