Default Why doesn't EVH gear release a bass?

Seems like a missed opportunity with a wolfgang bass like Wolf played on the tours.

Why didn't they ever release one?

As a bass player, I can tell the difference when I play a real expensive bass, but it really isn't that important. I just don't think there is much of a market for high end basses.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Understood.

But there are options to make a Wolfgang Standard Bass, more in the standard/special range, isn't there?

I think there would be some conflict of interest there,
    son/bass/sales/profits vs dad/guitar/sales/profits/health battles/etc.

It could get quite contractually confusing. Think about it.

I think they will release a Wolfgang signature EVH bass at some point.

I was thinking that the bass, drum, and vocal market is miniscule compared to the Global appeal of Eddie's stripes/guitars/amps/pedals/etc.

    Supply and demand, folks.

    True.

But the bass does look pretty cool, headstock and all. Might go over well with metal bands.

PRS makes gorgeous basses so there is definitely a market for em. Not as big as perhaps a middle of the line Wolfgang, though. That being said, bass players are much more inclined to spend a lot more on their instrument than guitar player, I think.

I also don’t view any of the guitars that EVH puts out as “high end”, to be honest. That’s not really a knock, just my opinion based on the line of guitars they sell. They’re fairly formulaic. Nothing really boutique or high end about any of em, to me. Just a high price tag that doesn’t really line up with what you’re getting. Again, just my opinion.

PRS, Scala, Collings, Bartlett, Knagg, Frank Bro’s, etc. Even some of the Gibson CS stuff. Those are high end guitars, to me.

There's got to be a "bass catch and release" joke in here somewhere.

Guitar players typically own 5-10 guitars. Bass players own 2 or 3 basses. Gibson makes some nice basses but they were never, and will never be known as a bass company. Same with PRS. People associate Fender with basses. I'm sure they have run the #'s with estimated sales and it just ended up not making financial sense. Eddie is not known as a bass player. Wolf has been silent for close to 5 years.
