DDL, my favorite non-single from the 6-pack in general. Still can't believe it wasn't played on tour, but that made it even more special in '15.

Hard to choose, I love them all, but I landed on Drop Dead Legs. That groove, that bendy slidey riff, the outro, the lyrics, it’s all pure Van Halen at their peak.

Girl Gone Bad. And frankly its not close. Its up there with Panama and Hot For Teacher for me.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

I went with 1984, as it signaled more of the depth of Edward's musicianship. We all knew be could play the ever loving sh*t out of a guitar, yet this was like "Holy! He can create stuff like this as well?" It sounded futuristic, as Eruption and the Mean Street intro had done years earlier.

For guitar songs, and songs in general? It's hard to pick a fave off of 1984. Their best album IMO, and this is from a guy who leans roughly 60/40 in favor of the Sammy era of Van Halen.

Drop Dead Legs. Girl Gone Bad. House of Pain.
All pretty kick ass stuff. And the "singles" weren't too shabby either. 1984 was their masterpiece, hands down.
"There's too many people on this basketball that's floating around the sun, who are too afraid to allow themselves to FEEL" - Edward Van Halen
"Van Halen was never about the singer..." - A very wise fan.
"Embrace the past. Live in the moment but keep your eyes on the future, and keep on moving forward..." - Richie Sambora

There are several really good songs on 1984, but I can't pick a favorite.

DDL, HOP, I'll Wait, Top Jimmy. All mega killer songs. Makes you wonder what 1985 would've sounded like.
