    Ed has decided this is how he will keep his legacy alive.

    Good for him.

    "I wish Bon Jovi would've given me a call before he recorded all of his hits, because the lyrics would've been smarter, the melodies would've been much more smashing, and they would've sold a lot fewer records." -David Lee Roth

    "My beef is people thinking Bon Jovi is good cuz they sold lots of records to housewives." -tango

    "But being number one doesn’t really mean jack fuck all. We sold twice as many records as other records that year (1984) that landed in the Number One position." ~Eddie Van Halen

    Why does Ed need him? Is there another amp design coming out? I mean, are we to believe they're gonna start tone chasing another amp? Just makes no sense unless a completely different tone set is in the works.
    It's cool and all but that feels like the 5154 is in the works...

    They are releasing a four channel amp on the premise of an "It's the tool I need to do my job!" quip from Ed; not realizing he's been unemployed since 2015...

    James Brown is an awesome guy. Met him officially last year an NAMM and I was amazed at how knowledgable he is on not only amps but effects, guitars and other things. James was the mastermind behind the original 5150 and II amps and I have no doubt that he will be a huge asset to EVH and give them some awesome insight for future projects and builds.

    Ed hasn’t been unemployed since 1978.

    Every time you buy a pick or a set of strings, that contributes to the cheque he gets every quarter.

    But I know what you meant 😎

    The cynic in me believes that Ed is looking at his own demise and is looking for someone with a similar viewpoint to gear to be in EVH Gear Inc. as a designer.

    Ah, design engineers, marketing engineers, big corporations, has beens, all riding the sonic waves. Or what's left of them anyway.
    Forget everything I've said up to this point, this is what you need now, LOL!

    I love opportunities to share this vid, it just cracks me up big time;

    Does this mean that Howard Kaplan's is out? Nevertheless I am intrigued. I was about to buy a stealth any day now which I guess I could still do because it will probably be a year before any james brown designed amps hit the market. The 50w stealth is cool but I dont know how it would differ from my 50w 1x12 combo that has the factory 3 channel mod. I want the stealth because I want 3 completely independent channels. If they come out with a james brown amp I'm sure I will buy that too. My 5150ii is sick and prob my favorite amp.

    The 5153 S 100W is a monster...it's easily my favorite of all the amp I have. My 5153 EL34 100W may have 10 hours on it. I can't even remember the difference between the two. I've played the EL34 so little...
    I agree with the independent three channel issue. I have a first year 5153 50W. It's just sitting idle...I occasionally play it....it's part of a little practice set up in my master bedroom.
