True, but I would rather him finish up his solo album and release that.

I like the snippets of it I have heard. From all accounts Ed and Al like it, so that's good praise.

Goes without saying that new music would be best. He seems not in a hurry (to say the least) to release it, I don't know why. Almost like EVH's mindset has contaminated him, post 2007.

VH has been kaput per Dave for not that long, and he has been doing his residency and KISS tour in the interim. Let's give him five years of inactivity before we confuse his productivity with Ed's.

If memory serves, they were song ideas that DLR has demo'd for a new VH record, and when that didn't pan out, he decided to work with John 5 and make it a solo album. Not sure of the timeline, but that's the gist.

Not surprising, per some of the interviews around 2012 that the band was doing as part of ADKOT, they talked about DLR showing up at 5150 with multiple big three ring binders full of songs and song ideas.

DLR has a lot of faults, but the lack of recording new VH material is not one of them.

If that story's true, I wonder what was the reception at 5150. Probably something like "hold your horses, partner - WE write the songs here."

We need an insider here to confirm that Wolf's Dad and Uncle have heard his new album that was recorded at Dad's studio?

I think it was more in line with "dude, we are retired, you didn't get the memo?"

Maybe they are off at college with the Sam VH catalog?

There is a term we use with the government, usually telling them if what they came up with will pass muster..."highly unlikely, but not impossible".

That pretty much summarizes the last 20+ years of VH. Through out any possibility, even the most mundane with minimal to no effort on their part, and the probability of occurrence is "highly unlikely, but not impossible".

Unfortunately, I think that catalog was off at college, but then it dropped out of school and got kicked out of the house.

Well, if he wrote these songs at the same time as he wrote Stay Frosty (and they accepted that one because it was the most VH) I'll be first on line to buy this album.
