No I have not heard Risk but I have bought something like 3 or 4 MD albums and all of them had gotten 1 play. His voice to me is nails on a chalkboard. Music is solid.

I guess I just like melodic rock/blues/classical, more than thrash etc. for the most part. I do enjoy some WASP/Metal Church/Metallica/Megadeath, from time to time.

    I love Metal Church, man!

Kirk Arrington used to inspire me a lot while I was learning how to play the drums. Still I love some Church these days since Mike Howe had rejoined the band in 2014.

Risk is fine, at least to me.
But most of the fans do not like it since it is different if you compare with the other previous releases. Risk is like a pop Megadeth.
Yet it has some good songs - Insomnia, Breadline, Doctor is Calling, Wanderlust, Ecstasy, Seven and both Time (Beginning & End).

Probably MOP over Peace Sells ... but Rust in Peace is my favorite metal album and I think it's better than both. The pinnacle of thrash metal right as it was dying off. Metallica had long since left thrash behind by that time. The speed and technicality of those riffs on RIP are insane. The solo by Marty Friedman on Tornado of Souls should be in the Smithsonian.

I listen to both of these all the time while I'm working out, both are great. I voted for Peace Sells just because I love a really pissed off Dave Mustaine. When that guy is really, really motivated he's an absolute monster. Good Morning/Black Friday is just a monster song....if you can't get fired up while listening to that there might be something wrong with you.

    "The Conjuring" is SOOOOOOOOO good.

I love that little Mustaine solo, with the repeating lick, after the first vocal part.

Wake up Dead, Conjuring, My Last Words, Devil's Island, Good Mourning/Black Friday...

That album is relentless, drug fueled creativity.

As much as i love Rust in Peace, and it's my second fave, there's just something more
punishing and frantic, with Peace Sells.

It's like he's fucked up, but also this briliant and creative guy, and the two worlds
    collide with this album.

I agree with you there, man. Peace Sells has much more punch since it shows the weird atmosphere the band was into during those days.

If I had to rank Megadeth's albums, I can't say for sure where I'd place Rust in Peace. That's a kick ass record, no doubt about it.
But it is not my favourite - these 02 1st records (Killing is my Business ... and Peace Sells ...) they are amazing and I still love them both equally.
Then there is The System has Failed, The World Needs a Hero and finally Rust in Peace.

I know .... You'd never rank them the same way!

For me, it's PEACE, RUST, SO FAR (under rated album), KILLING...

They lost me when they made their Black Album, which was Countdown.

I love that fucking BF tune: I'm out to destroy you, and i will cut ya down!

Yeah, I hear you!! Countdown is an ok record. IMHO, it has a few good tunes like Psychotron, High Speed Dirt, Architecture.

So Far, So Good has some real cool stuff - Into the Lungs, Set the World Afire, Mary Jane, Liar, Hook in Mouth, 502!

DAMN!!! I need to listen to this record again - I think I do not listen to it in years!!!!!!

I kind of agree. Dystopia was really good but aside from that I find a lot of everything that followed RIP kind of boring.

that out to destroy you line is awesome. he's so pissed when he sings it...lol.

It annoys me that Mustaine keeps recycling the "In my darkest hour," was written about Cliff,
after he got the tragic news.

Clearly, it's about a chick that screwed him over (You just laughed.....BITCH!)

What kind of tribute is that?

    Great fucking tune, though.

I enjoyed Dystopia and had the chance to see them live with brazilian guitar player Kiko Loureiro here in my hometown.
But it's far from being a favourite of mine. Did you ever check out stuff like Cryptic Writings or Risk or World Needs a Hero?

Hummmm ... I don't know. I thought he wrote it while he was dealing with loneliness.
And I remember reading he wrote IMDH the day Burton died, which has the be the only link between Cliff and the lyrics to this song.
