this would have been in May of 1989 when I saw the tour.

But for me personally it doesn't matter much. Best show I've ever seen was VH in 1998. I thought the last VH tour was a lot of fun despite the shitty reviews and less than spectacular crowds.
Agreed there. But I've never seen a VH show with such a small and disinterested crowd that it ruined the mood.

Red Rocks was sold out in 2015 but it only holds 10,000 or so. But Denver has always been a Van Halen stronghold. It snowed a foot here in 1995 in September and they still played at an outdoor venue and the place was full. I'll never forget that one.

    "Was the crowd miserable?"

"No! That's the best part about it. The crowd made the whole thing great... I have some friends who were out in the middle of it. They said it was the most incredible concert experience of their lives. The whole crowd bonded because they were all going through the same thing. Eddie's guitar got drilled by a snowball and he started firing them back. Sammy slipped on his ass."

    This is a true representation.

My buddy sent me a link on FB, from the 2 Dorks, where one of them is telling Tommy(in 2014) that they would tour again in 2019.

    Missed it by that much.

What happened to the contract they signed in piss and blood( then snorted the excess) that said they could never tour again?

    Money happened I'm guessing.

The 2015 tour did much better than the VHIII tour.

Tesla is an absolutely killer band. I regret to say I've only seen them live once, in 1990, but they were awesome. Jeff Keith is one of my favorite singers and lyricists.

I see this show happening in arenas. It now takes three of these bands to do what just one of them could do in the `80's. See my earlier comments in another thread about luring 40-50 year olds out on a potentially cold and rainy night when they could just watch YouTube and get to bed early.

Vince will lose the weight and that will help him sing every few words pretty well. It's going to be an awesome nostalgia trip. I'll be there.

Never saw Poison live but did see Bret Michaels solo. Really good frontman. Gets the crowd going really well.

Jeff Keith sounded pretty good there. Not bad for a truck driver.

Totally agree! I saw DL & Poison a couple of years ago, and Tesla opened. They were great as always, yet everyone was more excited to see Bret Michaels & his headband/wig lol. I saw Tesla back in '88 open for DL & '89 open for Poison, and they totally rocked! I do recall them being heckled when opening for Leppard, but that was only because DL was so huge at the time

Plus they had a condom machine on the tour bus.
