So Beltran go bye bye. That was going to be happening one way or the other.

what's interesting about all of this is that Houston's numbers at the plate improved dramatically in 17 (going from the strikeout kings to not striking out) but those numbers were better on the road than at home. Makes you wonder how often they were doing this.

Rumors are Altuve and Bregman were wearing devices on their shoulders that would buzz based on the signal. It would explain why Altuve didn't want his shirt ripped off after his walk off (video in the link above). Or he's just...you know...shy.

    Logan Morrison:

"I know from first hand accounts that the Yankees, Dodgers, Astros, and Red Sox all have used film to pick signs," he wrote, per NJ Advance Media's Brendan Kuty. "Just want you guys to know the truth. I personally think it's a tool in a tool belt to pick signs, but if we are going to be punishing people for it. Don't half ass it."

Maybe this is more wide spread than we want to think.

It should be noted, though, that what he describes is different than what the Astros did. It looks like those teams were deciphering sign sequences from video to then try to pick them up on the field. The Astros were literally doing it real time using video and relaying it to the hitters.

There doesnít seem to be anything wrong with doing that. I wouldnít call that cheating. Thatís not doing it live during a game and relaying it to a batter. Thatís comparable to a guy standing at second base trying to pick signs.

And how would Logan Morrison know exactly what these teams do heís never played for them? Yes someone could be telling him but he still hasnít seen exactly what it is first hand. Itís still hearsay.

If thatís what the Dodgers did that is certainly not the same thing, and not cheating.

The little guy vehemently denied the rumors that he has worn an electronic device during games that provided him with intel on what pitch to expect next. Just like Rafael Palmeiro told congress under oath he never took steroids...... lmao

Yeah I guess it depends on what they were filming. Remember the Astros were accused of cheating because they had a guy filming the opposing team's dugout so they could decipher signs. It was basically what the Patriots were doing, but in baseball. Apparently that was just the tip of the iceberg with the Astros.

Yeah I feel like filming the third base coach is different for some reason. It's out in the open and everyone can see it, so whether it's one person videotaping or a room full of people attempting to decipher it in real time, there's really no difference there. The only reason to video it is for convenience. We tried to steal signs in little league when we were on the bench, so this stuff is definitely baked into the game.

There is nothing to stop any team from watching video of games past or current to try and pick up signs.
Whistles, banging on trash cans and using vibrating devices to communicate them during the game is about as dirty as it gets.

They need to get away from the signs all together. They want baseball to move along faster, well the pitcher and catcher changing signs 100 times and walking to the mound again and again is not helping.

Last year Kenley Jansen was so concerned with a runner stealing signs at 2nd base , he intentionally balked the runner to 3rd. Little does he know they don't need to be on 2nd base anymore
