Now the threats are to Astro's players and their families.

That's considered an act of terrorism isn't it?

MLB needs to make a public announcement about this, flanked by the FBI, who also make an announcement about the consequences of making death threats.

How has no one commented on Madison Bumgarner doing rodeo competitions under an alias?

I can't decided if it's incredibly irresponsible or incredibly hilarious. I think it's both.

Walt Garrison did rodeo when he wasn't running the ball for the Dallas Cowboys. I don't think it was in his contract to ever refrain from it. Ahh the good old days

DAMN... Kershaw really did get screwed here. Changed LEGACIES.

Just look at Game 5 form the 2017 World Series.

    https://brobible.com/sports/article/...eries-kershaw/

n Game 5 of the 2017 World Series, the Houston Astros were not offering at any of Kershaw’s breaking pitches. Literally none.

Baseball writer Tom Verducci appeared on the MLB Network this week and presented a crazy statistic from the 2017 World Series between the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers. In Game 5 of the 2017 World Series at Minute Maid Park, Kershaw threw 51 breaking pitches to Astros batters and miraculously didn’t swing at any of them.

“Kershaw threw 51 sliders and curveballs that day, and got *zero* swings and misses on them, that alone will make you start thinking that something was up,” Verducci said on the MLB Network.

I also question this verducci storysince altuve struck out in the first vs kershaw (swinging at a slider for the k)

Just looking at the first inning, 3 batters - all swung at sliders.

Yeah, a closer look has Kershaw getting a swinging K on Altuve in the 1st. He then got a looking K on McCann in the 5th.

The pitch to Altuve was 89 mph. It did not have much break and was up in the zone. It looked more like a hard cutter that didn't cut.

Altuve also laid off the 74 mph Curve at 0-1, but it was a strike sanyways.

1st batter Springer. Looking strike. Then ground out.
2nd batter Bregman. Looking strike. laid off curve, ball. laid off FB, ball. Swinging strike, foul ball. CB, foul ball. FB, FLy out.

So neither Springer or Bregman had a swinging strike that was a miss. Both those guys were using the system.

The Astros players that were using the "SYSTEM" were able to lay off the big CB (74-76 mph range) that Kershaw often used as an out pitch. While not the total cause of the loss, it sure didn't help...lol...

maybe, or maybe they just laid off some tough pitches. This is the problem with this story, everything they've done is now open to interpretation.

I would tend to agree with you Mike but I also remember the same thing occurring when they faced the Indians that same year in the 2018 playoffs. They were laying off beautiful pitches by Kluber and especially Clevenger. Back then we were thinking "how are they laying off that stuff?" Now we know.
