Fine the owner a million then give it to cancer research. Fire all management that had anything to do with it.

If that table with the monitors set up at the bottom of the stairs, is proven to be what they claim...how is any coach or player going to say they didn’t know what what was going on?

so Pat Williams wants MLB to expand to Orlando. Normally, news of this nature would excite me but seeing as the two Major League teams Florida already feels can't put decent crowds in their ballparks, not sure why Orlando would be any different. Not to mention the fact that I'm pretty much over anything MLB does any more.

I'm sure that particular set up isn't all that different from what most teams have where players can go back and look at replays of their at bats. You see that sometimes where guys come back from the tunnel after a disputed strikeout and they are barking to the ump that the replay showed the ump was wrong.

However, the hitters had to know it was going on, and the entire bench would hear someone banging on a trash can and wonder what the hell was going on. Even the most obtuse person would put two and two together. The whistling probably needs a bit more cooperation with a signal to the bench from the tunnel who then do the whistling.

I'm stunned it went on for as long as it did without anyone saying anything.

The thing is I doubt they are the only team doing this. I've noticed that the last few years Yadier Molina has been putting down multiple signs with no one base when they're on the road, and he isn't the only one doing it.

Hopefully whatever punishment comes the Astros' way is enough to discourage this crap from taking place in the future.

Those pics were shown in the context of the cheating allegations. Lazy reporting if those monitors were SOP for all ball clubs.

Hereís the problem with saying this was SOP for teams. First of all if you notice in some of the pictures there are a ton of peanut shells on the ground. That leads me to believe somebody was sitting there for a long time and not just random players going to just check out an at-bat. Secondly why would anyone throw shells on the ground if they were literally a foot from a trashcan? Obviously they didnít think to use the trashcan because theyíre sitting there banging on it for something else every second. Next, why would it be necessary to break down this station so quickly if it was for legit use? And why the towels blocking it from the dugout view?

There was also another picture that was posted that looked like an aluminum bat or some huge piece of metal lying on the ground next to the trashcan that easily couldíve been used to hit the damn thing with.

It might be legit but absolutely it is worth looking into because it is strange. Iím very skeptical that this was legit use.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely believe they were cheating. The towels are pretty damning. My point was that the setup wasn't all that uncommon. Players are getting real time video from games and have been for years. I remember when Pujols was still here and they would talk about how he go back into the tunnel after an at bat and study the film on what happened to make sure he knew how to approach his next at bat. He would look for tells with a pitcher as well.

The reason for the seeds on the ground is because A) there's a guy there running the video equipment (that's the same for all teams), and B) it's a baseball stadium and guys spit seeds everywhere. Take a look at the floor of the dugout during a game. It's nasty.

That's what their argument will be. It's clear they were cheating just from the video alone. The fact that other teams have been accusing them of cheating for a couple of years now tells us this was something other teams were aware of or at least strongly suspected it.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

I mean the bottom line is yeah a former player said they were cheaters. I donít know what more needs to be said. They havenít come out and denied it either.

Iím really wondering how much of a factor it really did play in the World Series in 2017.

Some reporter in Baltimore asked Mike Elias if he know of the sign stealing technology when he was assistant GM of the Astros? He said he was involved with minor league scouting and hand no knowlege of it. That could come back to bite him in the ass if he is lying.
