Default EVH Frankenstein pickup pot value

I've got a partscaster I've been playing with. I added a Frankenstein pickup, and since it's what I had on hand I put in a 500k Seymour Duncan volume pot (no tone pot, just volume.) Since then I picked up a 250k and was wondering if ti would be worth switching them out to darken it a little. Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks

It won’t sound near as good with a 250.

500K is the way to go, IMO.

Generally speaking, 500s are for Humbuckers, and 250s are for single coils.

The lower resistance a pot is, the more high frequencies it bleeds to ground. So, a 250K pot works great for single coils which tend to be bright anyway...but they generally make humbuckers sound dark and muddy.

I thought I read somewhere Eddie used a 300k pot.
