    ADKOT is a mindblowing collection of explosive tunes and a dream come true!

Not to mention you have no idea if it is Gold, as VH will never bother to update any of their certifications. The days of multiplatinum releases for any hard rock acts is virtually over for about 99.9% of said acts. The only exceptions I can think of that MIGHT still conjure up sales in the multiple millions are AC/DC and Metallica.
    I agree with you. I wasn't saying I thought it was a failure. I was saying I'm pretty sure for EVH it was a failure. Especially the fact that you didn't hear the songs on the radio, I've heard him many times using this as a barometer of success. EVH got used to massive success, set the bar really high. He's used to the old ways of how the music industry was 20 years ago.

    So many people, time, & expense go into setting up booking tours....the participants need to be fit & ready....if EVH can't forsee his own future's fitability....that's gotta be a heavy load to carry....with so many depending on the one big star player....so if he can't be 100% certain of his own commitments availability....well then fuck....no use wasting everyone elses time & making plans...if you dont know for sure you'll be able to fulfill the commitments.

    VH is not the biggest hottest ticket anyways & Live Nation is a big muti million dollar business they dont appreciate having their time spent setting up tours only to be cancelled time & time again. There are so many particulars never mentioned many of which would surprise a lot of rock fans. Promoters & their money have a lot to say. You wonder why Michael Anthony's mouth was buttonlipped last year but later on opened his clap trap.

    Management & money.
    Also probably the reason Wolf has not released music. Taking care of Pops is #1 priority and always will be ...

    Van Halen could reunite with their original lineup and release an album that rivaled their debut and radio stations still wouldn't play it. That is the sad reality of the rock music industry in 2019.

    In one of his interviews, dont remember which one, he said he was happy it even made it into the top 10. Ed isnt as dumb as some of you seem to think he is. He has a pretty good idea of the music climate nowadays. Pretty sure he didnt expect ADKOT to go double platinum in record time.

    I have a lot of Google alerts set up, says Van Halen. I think I read something where somebody said, If Max Martin played guitar like Eddie Van Halen, hed be dangerous. I know hes like the modern Desmond Child. He makes all the hits. But thats all I know about him.

    I wonder how he likes Alternative Nation?

    I disagree. If you could remove VH1 from existence and they brought back Mike and released those songs it would be huge -- even with Dave's voice as is.

    I disagree. There was a time and place. And that was 41 years ago. You could drop Abbey Road today and it wouldn't get airplay.

    Would be cool to get some new music from Eddie. Whether it’s VH1-like or not.

    Maybe this is the year we get a Christmas song from the boys. I can only listen to Lukather's/Ed's "Joy to the World" so many times.

    I wouldn't be surprised at all if Wolfgang initiates & makes a collaborative record with his Dad (if Ed gets back to good health that is).

    If I was Wolf that specific project would be going through my mind big time these days after seeing my Dad battling through such serious scary health problems.

    We have 12 full length albums;
    All the unreleased demo stuff prior to VH1
    Wildlife Soundtrack
    Respect the Wind
    Human Being
    Me Wise Magic
    Can't get this stuff no more
    3 BOBW Tunes...
    2 Porn Tunes...
    2 LL Cool J Tunes...

    more obscure things like;
    Alan Holdsworth jams..
    2 Burrito's and a Rootbeer Float.

    There's only so many notes, so many chords, so many sounds you can make with a Floyd Rose.... The well eventually runs dry man.

    I really don't think we will ever hear anything new from Eddie, and I'm ok with that.

    I also loved Eddie's other side project stuff;
    Can't Get Away From You.
    Star Fleet.
    Thomas Dolby.
    Roger Waters.
    Sacramental.
    Tim Bogart.
    Etc.

    I wanna hear the tapes of him just going for it! Meaning, "albino pubic hair" mentality be damned. Not playing with Roth or Hagar anymore? Bummer on the second one, yet put out/give us access to the jams. The experimental stuff. The singers you auditioned or just played with for fun. I'm not expecting Eruption or I'm the One every time... Some will be like Once (cinematic), some will be like The Wild Life demos (cool as hell!), some will be like I Want Some Action (unfinished as we know it, yet completely rocking!), etc.

    There's so much that would mean the world to some of us, yet He and We aren't getting any younger...
    "There's too many people on this basketball that's floating around the sun, who are too afraid to allow themselves to FEEL" - Edward Van Halen
    "Van Halen was never about the singer..." - A very wise fan.
    "Embrace the past. Live in the moment but keep your eyes on the future, and keep on moving forward..." - Richie Sambora

    99.9% of the musicians in this world would love to have that kind of output, influence, innovativeness, success. I'll always be especially grateful we got ADKOT, the best VH album since 1984.
