The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

That Spinal Neurologist's picture was posted the exact same week as Ed's other pictures at the car dealership & later on at the Tool concert. I saw it the day it was posted & figured it was on purpose like the other pics to deliberately & nonchalantly offset the other tabloid papparazzi pic where he looked super puffy.

If EVH wanted to change the narrative and stop all the speculation, he could just release a song, doesn't even have to be a whole record. People would be glad to discuss new music instead of the health rumors. Just sayin.

Ed does not want to record music for public consumption, nor does he like touring.

Which ends the narrative that he is lazy. I'm a healthy 47 and I go days without playing because I'm just tired from sitting around.

He loves music, loves to play, always will. Hates to tour, hates to be seen, always will.

    No doubt. He's older now.
    Been there, done that.
It's more of a chore now, I am sure. Probably doesn't get the same satisfaction of playing and running around and giving people a good show that he did when he was in his 20's, 30's, and 40's.
It's a shame that basically two decades have gone to waste now. Imagine if we had 2 or 3 more albums than currently exist?
That second one with Gary would even be welcome. Would have shortened the dry spell considerably and may have been better.

If he is having some significant health issues now along with that lack of drive or desire, it's probably pretty much a wrap at this point.

You guys simply don't understand that people are wired differently,. Some people want to work until they are 70. Even then they probably will consult on the side and when they are not doing that, want to tinker around keeping busy. Some other people play golf every day of the week and meet their friends at the coffee house to BS. When you add some life changing health news, decades of addiction use, etc maybe Eddie simply wants to tinker at home and that is it.

Its perfectly fine. It sucks for us fans that he may have wasted decades of music but in reality, how much does this get your panties in a bunch? Are you unable to find employment because there is no "Van Halen - I Really Love to Say Love" album featuring Sammy? Are you unable to eat because Dave isn't on another release entitled "Speaking Japanese?" The dude has cancer or is fighting it. Music and fans are the last thing he needs to worry about

If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

I beg to differ. I do not think EVH is "lazy." He's still working. He launched a whole music company in the last 20 years. I imagine and hope he still plays and creates music at 5150. However I do think the whole problem is about releasing music and the reception it will get. Up until "Balance," number one record, everything was fine. VHIII, he just couldn't take the rejection and was traumatized by it. He tried once again, almost 15 years later, with ADKOT and again, failure as the record didn't even go gold and the single wasn't played on the radio here in LA where he lives. Plus for that one, he had to bite the bullet and work with the guy he doesn't like, DLR. For underwhelming results.

Truth is, EVH had proclaimed himself to be an "all about the music" type of guy. Which he probably was at one point. I mean why do "Starfleet Project" if not for the love of music, I'm sure he didn't make a dime on that one. It didn't bring any fame or fortune.
However as he got used to success, his motivation changed and he became a bit more like Michael Jackson, someone notoriously obsessed with the chart positions of his singles and albums. It's astonishing that he took a dip in record sales that hard, when he was already in his mid 40s and then late 50s, but I guess he's extremely sensitive.
