I see the point but on the filp side.... I saw both 2004 shows in Worcester back to back. I was playing in a VH tribute with guys I went to high school with and for whatever reason the guitar player never had the opportunity to see VH in the 80's/90's like the rest of us did. The singer and I saw VH for the first time at the Centrum in 1986 and it was incredible. Unfortunately my guitar player friends first time seeing one of his hero's was a complete let down. I felt bad that this guy never got to see Eddie back in the day and it was depressing that he had to see this. Thankfully now Eddie is totally cleaned up.

There's a chapter in Norm's recent book called "World Famous Tinkerer", which refers to a communication received by Norm from a famous guitar player (obviously Ed), who called him out of the blue in the early 2000's, possibly under the influence, and complained that Norm had replaced the PAF's from his '59 Burst before the EVH purchase, and wanted compensation. Norm then saw a pic from the early '80's where said player had removed the neck pickup entirely out of the guitar in question, which proved that modifications were made to the guitar/pickups:

Pretty sure they've had no communication since.

Plus, let’s be real here, how many more guitars does Ed need? He probably has one of every guitar made. LP’s, strats, V’s. He has it all.

It’s very cool that Eddie and Val have remained close, and Ed looks good!

Cool you got to take your son to see VH good stuff. Dynamite.

And another thing....11 years old....I've noticed comments surfing through the years....theres a lot of folks dont even believe young folks attended concerts back then at 11 years old & what not...as though it's some kinda big deal or something. Haha.

No- It's lGo the same as going to a movie or theatre play. Hockey game, demolition derby, horse races, etc, etc,

My Dad took me to my first concert in 1976. BTO at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver with Trooper opening up. ( Randy Bachman produced their first 4 albums).

I was only 8 years old at the time but I think he wanted to go see BTO & I was with him at the time because we were at the PNE. Roller Coaster summer fair.

Then later on took me to see KISS in 1979. Love my Dad. I still to this day take great care of his record collection & other belongings
You were on a roll last night, H. 😄

Yeah, that was me that posted those pics from the Mississippi River Jam. That had a lot to do with the good memories. Never could imagine seeing a band from my youth with one of my kids.

Same post on his facebook. Some of the comments make me worry about humans as a species.

Anyone else think it's a little odd we haven't seen Ed and Janie together for months ?? She's off doing her dancing things, he's off buying cars, going to gigs etc. but they don't seem to be seen together ? Maybe I'm over-thinking things but maybe this is one of the issues ?

If you have nothing nice to say about Eddie Van Halen, you're at the right website. - Me (A few years ago)

"People take Van Halen much more seriously than we do" - David Lee Roth (1980's)

"I don't sit on the end of your bed while you're trying to make a living" - David Lee Roth (1988)

"For some reason people love to complain about everything. The internet has made it easy for people to do that. Shut the fuck up and get a life, or show me how good you can do it."- Edward Van Halen

"A lot of people ask me which Van Halen singer was better. You can't compare them. It's like asking which guitarist is better. Nobody is better than anybody. Every player is their own person."-Edward Van Halen

"I do like Eddie Van Halen as a player. He gets it right quite often." -Paul McCartney
