    Default NBA 2019-2020 Official Thread

Itís only changed because the Warriors arenít winning anymore. The game has been the same for several years. All the Warriors do is shoot three pointers and dunk, I donít know how you could possibly say the game is different now. If anything the Warriors are to blame for all this type of play.

And, yes, the game IS getting worse every year IMO. Now, when Curry and Klay, my two favorite players now, come back next year I will watch Dubs games.
Last I checked LeBron passes more than anybody on the Warriors ever did. But whatever. The game is exactly the same as itís been, and the good teams do the same thing any good team does in any era.

You can romanticize all you want about the Warriors play, but the game is exactly the same. It didnít change since last year. Your favorite two players define everything thatís wrong with the NBA. Their shooting is why the game is the way it is now.

If one only watches Warriors games of the past few season and then watched a random game then the NBA would look different. Not because it is but it's because of who you are watching. But that's like someone only watching Showtime Era Lakers games and then tuning in for a Bullets/Nets game the next year and wondering why the sport had changed. It didn't change, you are just watching not watching Magic.

Yep. Same game, just different teams playing it successfully. If you want to see different basketball, take a time machine back 25-30 years.

The bottom line is the game is fun to watch when your team is winning. When you have a shitty team of course you donít wanna watch. The game is fine when your team is on top. And thatís the truth.

Itís not like the game magically changed because the Lakers are good this year. Itís the same game, I just like watching it more because the Lakers are better. Not rocket science. The Warriors are pitiful this why year, so would anybody want to watch that? Itís bad basketball for any era.

The Broncos sucked this year and I didn't care to watch all that much.

Then Drew Lock started at QB, they went 4-1, and he was entertaining to watch so I made it a point to catch the games and even went to one with my son.

I didn't pay as much attention to the Lakers when Magic retired until that Van Exel led team upset the Sonics and then they got Shaq.

I don't fault JD for not enjoying this season, but it isn't because the game suddenly changed.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

I've watched a couple of Warriors games with my daughter (good teaching experience for her to watch her team stink) and they are a truly awful team. I never thought that Kerr was a great coach and we are seeing this season that he's not the type that could turn a bad roster into a respectable team.

Kerr is from the Phil Jackson school of coaching.

I donít blame JD at all for not wanting to watch the Warriors play, but itís not because the game is different. Theyíre just really bad.

Lmao, this is an asinine post. And an ignorant one. But carry on, Brett. I'm not really sure how much time in your life you've actually spent PLAYING OR STUDYING the game, but I'm fairly certain it's quite a bit less than I have.

And you are putting words in my post I didn't write. I didn't say the game had drastically changed since last year. I said it keeps getting worse. The NBA has continued to get worse for many years now, including during the Warriors run.

Doesn't matter, not worth my time to argue it any further. I'll leave that to you.

Dude I guarantee you you have not studied the game more than me. This is not a pissing contest, but thatís not a conversation you really want to get into. I have obsessed over the game since I was 10. You want to talk stats, strategies, anything. I am more than willing.

I have no reason to argue, all I am saying is you donít like the game now because your team sucks. Itís the same game it was last year when the Warriors were good and you were loving it. If the Warriors come back next year and are better, I am sure youíre going to enjoy watching the games again. That run they went on is over though. Theyíll never dominate like they did. Too many teams have caught up now.

Plus you admittedly donít watch anything but the Warriors, so how you can comment on so much when you watch so little. Thatís like listening to Jump and saying all Van Halen songs sound like that.

Now if youíre asking if the game is more enjoyable than it was 30 years ago, the answer is no itís not...at least not to me. But it hasnít changed much in the last decade.

I didnít see the game I was at band practice. But it looks like LeBron and AD had pretty good games with 60 points, but nobody did much of anything else. And the defense wasnít great. Yeah thatís far too good of a night for Ben Simmons who I donít think is all that. The Lakers never beat Philly anymore.

Simmons was the best player on the floor last night and the non AD/Lebron Lakers shot 36%. Even great teams are gonna have nights like that. Sixers got a nice club and when Ben is that efficient they are very tough to beat. Fortunately for everyone else he doesn't have many nights like that, the kid needs to develop an outside shot.

Agreed. There is nothing special about Kerr at all.

He went to a place to where he would have to be a complete fuck up to fail. Smart move, but he isn’t anything special as a coach.
