Imagine if Yngwie filled in for Vai on the Eat 'em & smile tour, reboot?

Vai replaced Yngwie in Alcatrazz, but what if Yngwie replaced Vai in Roth's band?

The intro to "Shyboy" would be all picked, instead of legato style.

The tapping section of "Big Trouble," would be al sweeps, etc.

Either Yngwie or Dave likely would have gone to jail before the first show. Can not see them co existing

I seem to recall reading that Malmsteen was one of the names Dave considered when beginning to put his EEAS band together. Reminds me of Eddie's quote about Dave's band back then - "He quit, and now he wants the hottest guns in town to replace us?"

But I agree; Roth + Yngwie = Not a good fit.

If Mike had availability, I think he'd do it.

Dave was at Yngwie's show at the Beacon in '85. The buzz was he was scouting.

Yep Yngwie was a shiny object. He got the right guy in Vai and Bissonnette was very unready for how much he contributed to that band.

That was a great band. Tour was phenomenal too.

I know you shred on guitar... What do you think of Richie Kotzen and Billy Sheehan in The Winery Dogs?

I haven't really heard much of the Winery Dogs. Sons of Apollo which was another Sheehan project with Portnoy, Soto, Sherinian, Ron Thal was really good when I saw them live though...

In regards to Yngwie - I don't think he would have been interested in joining Dave's band in 86. That was pretty much the height of his career in many ways.
His work with Alcatrazz and his 1st 4 solo albums were absolutely amazing. I really don't know what happened to him from then on. It's like he just lost his hearing and personality and became a cartoon character. He was really really good until about 90 though.

This is a good tune by The Winery Dogs. Damn shame Ritchie never hooked up with the right band. Dude can write.

I'd highly recommend their first cd!
I was very late to the party, yet am that guest who wants to keep going.

Now, the Winery Dogs, there is a REAL supergroup.
