50 new Kotzen tracks being released in February next year on his 50th birthday.

Love the Winery Dogs, but his true gold is in his solo stuff.

That's nice! I also enjoy his solo stuff a lot.

I had the chance to see The Winery Dogs in my hometown (Clube do Congresso - May, the 14th 2016) and they put out a kick ass show.

    Great solo tune by Ritchie.

"He has a swaggering retro machismo that will give hives to the Steinem cabal" -Camille Paglia on Donald Trump

"But, fucking with Brook is like fucking with hot shit on and ax handle. You just don't get a grip"-track5

"Make way for the bad guy"- Tony Montana

'This hamburger don't need no helper"- David Lee Roth

"I wish Bon Jovi would've given me a call before he recorded all of his hits, because the lyrics would've been smarter, the melodies would've been much more smashing, and they would've sold a lot fewer records." -David Lee Roth

"My beef is people thinking Bon Jovi is good cuz they sold lots of records to housewives." -tango

"But being number one doesn’t really mean jack fuck all. We sold twice as many records as other records that year (1984) that landed in the Number One position." ~Eddie Van Halen

Kotzen reminded me of similar to Dave Meniketti. Very talented, very respected and liked by his peers, prolific and works his ass off so will always have a gig but never had that "hit" to make him a more household name but so talented you look up and boom a 30 year career.

I think Rikki Rokkett May have a different opinion of him.

Imagine Ritchie with another talented writer and a killer band. Guy should have been big.

Yeah I know, was commenting on him as an artist not a person. But Rikki ended up with the right person in the end so in a way it worked out in the end.

Who would go? I don’t like wasting time on negative posts; however, adding the great Michael Anthony only works within Sam’s gig and of course Van Halen. I could be wrong but Dave’s audience, whether EEAS or straight solo with Mike as a guest, is not going to draw anyone imo. If he takes this on tour, he’s back in 500-1000 seat casino’s. (And even not selling those out.) The Public’s interest in him is only within Van Halen. Sam has a stronger following from what I have seen, but even he knows, by far the biggest interest in him is now and for ever will be tied to VH. It is what it is.

Hopefully Ed’s cancer will stabilize and he will want to go out or retire the right way. (Health permitting) When you have been fighting cancer like he has, it can change your perspective on life in a big way. People don’t fly to Germany for treatment if it’s not a big deal. Could make him feel like he has unfinished business, including musically. We all know either or both singers would drop what they are doing in a heartbeat for one more VH go a around. Especially with Ed seemingly sober and likely wiser from the cancer scare. Then again, it’s VH we are talking about, so who knows.

    Hoping for the best!!!

That album, Into The Black, from 2006 was the beginning of a run of amazing music from him that hasn't stopped yet.

Is his Fever Dream album all instrumental? I was looking at cds on eBay and wow, he has a lot of them! Some are pretty pricey though... I might need to pick up one of his 'Best of' or 'Greatest Hits' just to get me started.

Oh, I know. I listen to a LOT of stuff online.
Just old school in many ways and like having actual cds for certain bands/artists.
