I'm not saying that it's not the cause but two siblings with the same habits and one gets cancer and the other doesn't you would look for differences.

Alex never held a metal pick in his mouth to my knowledge.
I can’t believe that someone hasn’t blamed it on HPV?

My mom and her sisters are all smokers, but only my mom got cancer. It was definitely from the smoking. Results may vary.

Yeah, i mean it's not like Eddie was using metal picks for an extended period.
I think, originally, he used Fender mediums, but always plastic.

He used a stupid metal pick on like one shitty song, for the tapping intro.

Warren Demartini used metal picks on "Out of the cellar," but switched after they
    kept breaking his strings.

Those German websites or magazines that do report on Eddie being sick all quote TMZ. But to be honest, there aren't even many.

And, since Van Halen is only remembered as the band that did "Jump" over here, I guess nobody would even recognize him, if he was still looking the same as in 1984.

I don't really think the "how" he got it is important. He has had it, or has it and who knows. My sister who only smoked from maybe 18-23 has uterine cancer. She is 62. She believes that its caused not by smoking but by being chemically poisoned by being around a bunch of old ladies who wore too much perfume. Used to work at an old folks home and I guess the blue hair barracudas there wore some sort of perfume and that is what gave her cancer. I mean could be anything but she concentrates on that

Concentrate on the cancer and get well. Yeah Eddie probably got it from smoking but doesn't matter at this point

    Yep.

My grandmother died 3 years ago at almost 92. Smoked like a freight train most of her life. Not a hint of cancer.
But I think more often than not, smoking is very bad for you, not just cancer-wise, but for your heart.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

My great grandma lived to be 94. Fried everything in lard and pigfat. Chewed Redman til the day she died. IMHO it has alot to do with the shit in processed food.

Women seem less at risk for tobacco and high fat diet then men. There are always exceptions to the norm. We all know folks like your granny who live long into late 80s smokin , drinkin, and eating bacon and scrapple daily. I also know folks who are Jack Lalane Jr and croak in their 50s and 60s.

It could be from HPV and eating too much pussy. But in the case of EVH, the massive amount of drinking and smoking seem the prime candidate.

It seems the more they study HPV the more cancer its linked to. Nasty little bugger. STD rates have been soaring since the sexual revolution and show no end in sight so has the cancer rate. Invest in robot sex doll companies.
