This. I wish him all the best, but unless I am in Vegas at the time for a conference or something, no way. I ain't making a trip just for it.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

There are. Some venues that are 2 to 3 that probably would have DLR and another band as part of a package deal.
I think Dave solo plays 1,000 or less clubs in most areas. He hasn't cultivated a solo brand like Sam has, he's tied to VH.

Not meant as a slam on DLR, but he hasn't put consistent effort into his solo work since 1994. I don't Ed solo is playing anything big either.

I love my VH. I love Dave but at this point, I find it very hard to believe that Dave without VH or EEAS band could tour 1000 seat venues. Its not like he suddenly started to lose his vocal chops. Its known in the hard rock community that he is a shell of what he was. How many here would actually pay money to see him live in their home town? I don't think that many. If he was with Vai and Billy? Yeah I would go but not forking over money to see him.

I hope he does well but I just don't think social media will be friendly to him when he is doing Vegas.

My local venue is 750 people and I'd pay the usual $35 to see him there.

If Dave isn't in VH, I'm really not interested. And no offense to the rest of the guys in the band, not interested in them either. Sam, Mike, Ed, Al, Wolf, any of their solo work (outside of Sam as non-existent as it is), I have little interest in seeing it live. For example, in the Sam thread, that setlist he is playing? Zero interest. CF I had interest...that was a great band.

Wow, you'd have zero interest in seeing Edward do a solo show, in a more intimate venue?

I'd cream my pants to see that!

Lots of comments (from other posters, psst JD and Brook) about Dave sounding/looking bad, and not having much/any desire to catch the gig. I can't say I'm surprised...

Samís solo touring success is strongly influenced by Mike being in the band.

Itís no surprise Sam sacked Mona to bring Mike in. He can definitely play to the Van Hagar crowd.

Daveís previous solo band was legit, especially with Ray Luzier on the drums.

The current band isnít really that impressive.

The band he had with Brian Young and Ray Luzier was a tight unit. I don't think too much of his current backing band, but again, it was rehearsal footage, who the hell knows.

I am just expecting this to be a train wreck, and I don't want it to be, I would like for him to do well.

It wasn't a rehearsal. It was a private performance for industry peeps at a rehearsal studio. But they were obviously green and "needed" a few more rehearsals.

Anthony/Johnson/Bonham are not virtuosos' but are a rock solid, professional band with well over 100 years of combined experience. As primarily a solo act outside of his time in VH - Hagar certainly understands the importance of having professional musicians on stage with him. Dave did as well up until this most recent incarnation.

I have no idea who is in Dave's band currently. Did some research but can't find anything. Would love to see what else they were involved with so I could hear them individually.

If it wasn't thousands of miles away I would. Guess I'll have to wait for the possible proper tour.

Those guys in DLR's band need showmanship, skills, & how to learn to sing, moreso than anything else. For me, Vic is the reason I passed on the Circle. I loved Chickenfoot, partly bc I thought having Satriani was an exciting thing. I have no interest in a band, if the guitar player is bland, but competent & a boring riff-writer. I think Sammy is a better player than VJ, which is not a good thing. YMMV
