    Gotcha.

    LOL, that's funny!
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

Like it's a different guy, altogether.

The trailer, the goofy still shots....

    WTF happened to him?
I guess one could claim that he hasn’t changed that much (vocally) since the last time he was in Las Vegas...still reaching for that upper register.

Don't wanna judge some DLR performance from like a quarter century ago, but why the fuck would you completely CHANGE such a fantastic, and recognizable vocal melody? His recorded cover of that song is PERFECT. What is the point of performing it with a totally different melody that has no structure what-so-ever? Love DLR, but bro the ONLY guy that can pull that off and still carry the tune is Daryl Hall. That guy can jump octaves vocally as effortlessly as I can open my refrigerator.

He still seems exactly the same to me as he did here in the 80s. Maybe it's the lack of hair or something that's throwing you guys off... Maybe he seems weirder just because it's no longer the 80s and he's out of context. In fact, I'd argue he stayed the same and the world around him (especially the music world) changed.

I'll preface this by saying I love Dave. Buuuut....

To me, that's the moment Dave did irreparable harm to his image. He had been slowly running towards that end for nearly a decade, but he officially crossed the line into caricature/shell of his former self there. It's the moment the jokes stopped landing and he became more uncomfortable to watch than entertaining. That didn't stop him of course and he found new ways to make himself look worse all the way up to the eventual reunion with VH when he seemed to start heading in the right direction again. However, every year since 2008 he seems to be slipping back towards what he was prior to joining VH.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

I guess its necessary for people who cant stand Dave to continue to hammer him for some reason. Jmorton hit the nail on the head with his post.

    Ha-Ha!

I think Snowdog may be right...I think DLR has remained the same in nearly every aspect while the world around him has changed. Oh well, he’s still my favorite.
