I’m pretty sure if my parents know who Def Leppard is, the sister of a world-famous rockstar from that time would know who they are.

And I don’t think it really mattered what I was playing, she was just being nice and complimenting her friend’s kid.

Brett you put a lot of effort into that video. Damn near all your videos. It’s not some long haired guy playing a blue EBMM with his son dancing around.

I saw Def Leppard open for Ted Nugent, with Pete Willis in the band...a few years ago, LOL!

Brett, you did an outstanding job on this, and I truly admire your layering efforts of sound and video.
However, I must mention that I've always heard a high C on the top of that fourth chord,
making that last chord of that four chord pattern, sound the highest.
Your fourth chord sounds the lowest.
Try a C5, center two strings barred at 5 with index, and upper two barred at 8 with pinky

Otherwise, great job, keep up the good work

My first band mates and I used to play Rock Brigade at kegger parties, back when I was in HS.
Hardly anybody knew of Def Leppard back then, and the party goers would ask us if that song was one of our originals.
We would have to say no, it's by this new kick ass band from England, and they're all like 17 years old, like we were.

I was talking about the fourth chord from the beginning; the pattern used for the intro, and subsequent interludes.
The first time it's used is right before the drums come in.
Just now, I got the pitch straightened out, and earlier I mistakingly suggested C5. I was off a whole step, yikes.
I should have said try a D5 (flat D5 approximate actual pitch), barre center string pair at 7, and upper pair at 10.

(BTW, the string pair thing I mentioned may sound strange, but I often think of the strings as being just three pairs; a lower pair, a center pair, and an upper pair.)

So I finally decided to do another video because I wanted to use my new Charvel on something. I would have used my new 5150 but funny enough this song is actually tuned down and I set up that guitar in standard.

I tried to copy the real version as best as I could, and I recorded a ton of guitar parts, including doing the Steve Clark pre-chorus chords one string at a time on a track. What a pain. But it was fun to try it.

I also used the real vocal track that I found online, because the backing track one sucked. I had to pitch shift it because the real song is tuned to something funky and it’s not quite down 1/2 like mine. Luckily my daughter has a really good ear from all her years in school choir, so she helped me get it close. Amazing it worked as well as it did.
