Default Favorite Lead Singer / Lead Guitarist

Jedi McFly playing some Hendrix made me think about guys who sang lead vocals AND played lead guitar. Hendrix, Billy Gibbons, Ted Nugent sometimes, Tommy Shaw sometimes, the guy from Muse.

There must be more. Who's your favorite?

Lately mine has been Dave Meniketti from Y&T. Awesome voice and shreds pretty great, too!

Other frontman guitarists among my faves:

    Prince
    Billy Joe Armstrong
    Steve Miller
    Chuck Berry
    Tommy Shaw

I know, I know, I should like David Gilmour and Neil Young. But I don't.

Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, Prince, Ian Thornley and Brad Paisley all come to mind.

Was just listening to some Steve Miller last weekend. His voice with his guitar are a gift.

so i'm guessing guys like Ocasek and Petty don't count because they weren't the lead guitarist

you know I can't pick one, but some of my faves are Billy Gibbons, David Gilmour, George Harrison, Lindsey Buckingham; Frampton, Walsh and Nugent gotta get a nod...

Damn, those are both greats examples. And I saw them at a double bill a year or two ago. Great show.

Hendrix, Knopfler, and Gibbons come to my mind first.

He doesnt always sing lead, but Jerry Cantrell has a terrific voice, too.
