Like most people say, god those songs were good. The production quality and playing.............I really wish we had a whole album of THAT.

It was a short sighted, spiteful, vengeful move to piss off Sam as much as he was.

I've felt for a long time that it was not only a spiteful fuck you to Sam, he then got to get a "fuck you for leaving me in 1985" to DLR as well.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Some of us would love it if Eddie was secretly working with Sammy, behind Dave's back, on a couple of new tunes! What a full circle juxtaposition that would be. Tack them onto the BOV2 that Eddie long ago said they had "Ready to go..".

Don't forget "Between Us Two" - that song was the stuff of legends back when I first joined here.

Pretty cool, other than Jamie's Cryin' - my least fav on VH, and DITS - there were no cover tunes on BOV1.

I'd also love Good Enough or Summer Nights on there, and/or a finished I Want Some Action!

Actually 96 was the best Dave and Edward ever got along in a studio. Both of them were surprised by that. Edward was very patient w Dave and the two genuinely clicked creatively which is opposite of the usual for them. The common factor is in 85 and 96 no one was running the ship. There was not people to say otherwise except Daniels who did jack and rode along taking both sides of a deal.
Edward was 100% committed to his solo record which he legitimately felt would be huge as the first real VH record. Yeah that was a no bro.
Dave's instincts were 100% correct the response would be overwhelming and create the demand. His instincts are usually right about those things but he is usually wrong on judging the will of Edward. Dave can play unknowing victim after but he knew exactly what he was doing and the other singers. He was pissed he got the reaction he figured but it meant nothing to Edward so Dave blew off the video shoot. Yes it was slimey to mislead fans but Dave was not a victim despite his claims after. He simply made the same mistake again with Edward and was pissed. It was an awful decision by Edward but almost all his decisions in regard to band decisions are bad. They just are.

This is a band that needs strong management. The way you get this band to move forward is the Azoffs and Dave bury their respective hatchets.

Sammy is quite the hype man when it comes to music people haven't heard yet. I remember when he was saying that of the three new songs in 2004, Up for Breakfast was by far the best and that people would love it. This was after It's About Time came out. Ehhh....

Yep, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, at least when I saw this tour in Dallas.

I absolutely loved this show. So great to hear both the Sam and Dave eras represented on this tour. Just remember loving hearing some of the Roth era songs that they didn’t touch during the Hagar years. It was like hearing a new band, in a way.

I had seen them with Sam a bunch, but only once with Roth in 1984, so it was cool to hear those songs again. Also felt Gary handled the Roth catalog pretty well. Much better than he handled the Hagar catalog.

It was reasonably full in Dallas, by my recollection.

This show was memorable for one other reason. Remember going to the bathroom, and the line was long. Finally got inside the restroom, still waiting for a spot, and the guy about 3 people in front of me apparently couldn’t (or wouldn’t) wait any longer. He just pissed right on the bathroom floor, waiting in line.
    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

I actually think musically it is the best.

His lyrics on it are garbage.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

Being the best of the three new songs in 2004 was right up there with being the coolest guy at a Village People concert.
