That reminds me of the time my wife and I went with her co-worker and her co-worker's boyfriend to see Metallica for free at The Forum in L.A. in January 1992, about 5 months after the release of the Black album. About halfway through the show, James Hetfield asked the audience, "How many of you have our Ride The Lightning album?" The crowd went nuts. He then asked, "How many of you have our 2nd album?" The crowd again went nuts. Hetfield then deadpanned, "Same album, dickheads."

I saw him in 2017, & it was such a great show! He encored with a cover of "How Many More Times" that absolutely smoked

After playing old school axes, that EVH striped series must feel like the easiest thing in the
    world to play, for him.

    And you can hear/see it.

Joe is just shredding on the thing, like it's a toy.
And what a different, but cool tone.

LOL, that was the first concert I ever went to.

My memory from that one like the bonfire at VH in Costa Mesa was people ripping the seat covers off the chairs and throwing them at the stage.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

Machine gun Joe. His picking hand is like a machine gun. He's very clean as well which makes him sound even faster when he does the Eric Johnson descending fives lick. I know he uses some economy picking on his fast runs. Great player.

    Hear, hear

Whenever EVH doesn’t tour then, imho, he has the premier guitar event of the year.

    He always brings it

And his guitar tech wears a black and grey striped VH beanie that He probably got from our VH store. That’s where I got mine.

Yeah, too bad Joe can't shred like that on one of his unplayable $250k+ vintage fiddles.

I always liked this video. I have bought a separate guitar for each of those tones he gets...A ton of talent helps too, but it is truth. Still, it's fun buying stuff!

And he played with Sammy's son for a brief moment Aaron Hagar in Bloodline However this was short lived as Aaron left the band and Sammy blamed Eddie. Seriously he did play briefly until Aaron left over creative differences
