Definitely Whiskey. With that said Fools has a better intro.
Right here I say....

This one is impossible for me to say which I like better.
If I don't respond to you it means I have you on ignore, which means you are a douchenozzle.
Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"
David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Both songs are great. I have to go with Fools. That song sounds like the band walked into the studio, pressed record, made up and jammed out an amazing song on the spot. Incredible how their studio recordings had such raw awesome energy.

"Fools" just has this vibe to it, almost like WHO "Live at leeds", even though it's a studio album.
That intro just gives me the chills.
The part where you hear Dave sing quietly, "Let's play it together one time..."
Then later, that huge pick slide (THE pick slide of all pick slides) into the big chord with Al.
then that blinding, off the cuff unaccompanied solo, which back then, i just could not believe
the fluidness and overall aggression of those licks.
The slight mutes, the tone...
He'd bend a string or hit a pick harmonic, and his sound was so huge.
Then you get into that killer groove, that grinding riff.
And, man, that outro blew my mind as a teenager, still does.Graver, Walking Ed, refugee from CVH & proud tone chaser...

Can i just say ALL of WACF, instead of picking one over the other?
The sequence of that record is my favorite.Graver, Walking Ed, refugee from CVH & proud tone chaser...

Yes. The PERFECT hard rock album for those who love a band just blazing things off the cuff in maybe 2 or 3 takes and calling it good. Nothing overcooked or overthought which can sometimes lead to things being watered down or contrived. And nothing on WACF is overly slick or calculated to be a "hit" per se.

Whiskey without a doubt. Outside of the intro, Fools never did much for me.

Whiskey for sure. The acoustic part with Dave singing over the top is incredible.
In fact, I hope that one day when that album with John 5 is released, it's in that vein, which from all reports, it is."I Wanna See Everybody Headbanging Like It's 1984"

Whiskey has a great intro, too.
Again, you can hear the power in Ed's left hand, with that acoustic intro.
The little pull offs & rakes.
On that particular album, you can really hear that ZZ Top influence.
He always reminded me of a turbo charged Billy Gibbons, in a way.
But Ed points to Clapton.
I hear Gibbons (on his bluesy/pentatonic stuff).Graver, Walking Ed, refugee from CVH & proud tone chaser...

Tie.
"Fools, I live with fools. Fools, they make the rules." vs "Some goes to women, Some goes to Jesus, though I'm absolutely certain both's alright."
Can't choose, or rather I choose both.
