Show didnt want to compare them, he misinterpreted what another poster had said without going back and reading through earlier posts and seeing that it was Alex Lifeson and Andy Summers who were actually being compared. Jape, I think it was in the Random VH shit thread, it was an innocent and funny mistake and I corrected him, without being a fucking dick about it.

Squalen, Ive gone out of my way for the last several weeks to try to get along with you, because we do agree on a lot of things, but then you post bullshit like this and the Sam vs Dave bullshit yesterday and its clear youre just a fucking dick who likes to instigate fights for no reason.

Since I know you'll respond and try and keep the fighting going all day I'm just going to say Cheers and have a happy Sunday and that'll be it from me.

No you did not do that. Youíre a lying fuck. Shut your pie hole and ignore me like youíre supposed to.

One manís innocent and funny mistake is another manís ďthat guy is a dumbfuck.Ē

Ask me how I know that, hi hat.

Of all the posters on here, you two idiots deserve the least amount of leeway. So it falls. You earned it. Enjoy.

Back to the topic at hand....I prefer Fools just because of the epic intro. IMO the best pure Eddie riff to truly hear the brown sound clear as a bell

Thats a fair point. Its also one of the fastest VH songs ever. The reason I dont think of it as being heavier is simply Ed's guitar tone for that album. Thats all ive been trying to point out in this conversation. Yes, the songwriting styles are obviously similar on 1984, 5150, and OU812 because its all VH, but 5150 isnt as heavy as the other two, TO ME, because of the guitar tones. But I guess that makes some heads explode, and certainly has nothing to do with Dave or Sam. Only mention of them was saying Dave captured the dark, sleazy vibe of the music in GGB with his lyrics and that IMO Sam's best vocal in VH was on "5150", easily my favorite tune on that album.

The main riff of Get Up has always reminded me of a sped up version of Man On The Silver Mountain.

It is definitely short on the typical VH melodies.

Get Up is my least favorite song on 5150, yet having said that, I like certain parts of it for sure. It's not a 'bad' tune at all.

Get It Up by CF is a much better tune than Get Up by VH.

Get Up is a good song with some pretty incredible drumming by Alex. But I was always disappointed in his playing on it on LWAN, he seemed tired, especially with his fills. But the studio version...whoa.

I only know a few CF songs from their first cd, that my buddy made me on an MP3 disc way back. Been loving the new Circle cd and Sammy's Red Voodoo one that I finally got after all these years... I might have to look more than into some CF stuff.

    Always HATED "Get Up."

Just a throwaway tune, to show off the trans trem.
The riff is super annoying, as is the chorus.
    Even the solo is boring.

"Summer Nights" was the real showcase for the Steinberger.
Just clever, musically, and a nice mid paced groove.

Fools wins because of the super shreddy way before its time intro. Still makes my jaw drop almost 40 years later. Unbelievable chops!!!!

Me too. Always skip Get Up.
