CGTSNM is an excellent laid back tune that reminds me a little bit of Secrets. MWM is a flat out scorcher. Oh, what could have been in 1996 …

Sounds really forced. Not too crazy about those and other strained parts in MWM.

CGTSNM is on spot and groovin' from start to finish though. I like both songs, but CGTSNM the easy winner, in my opinion.
I like the music of MWM better, but Dave's delivery on Stuff is better, except at the end where he starts straining like in MWM.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

LOL. I can't even play it, my fingers will not stretch that far.

I understand Wruff's feeling about Dave's straining. I can see that annoying some.
It didn't bother me much at the time. He had clearly lost some before that anyway, so, I was ready for it. For me, I didn't think it ruined the songs at all. I was still loving them and was looking forward to the new record and tour.

    I agree.
MWM was the start of the Kermit the Frog yelps that turned me off of being a then and now Dave fan. The stuff in the club days up until the 1984 album? I like it for the most part.

The music on MWM is great, although I prefer CGTSNM as an overall tune. Great vibe and groove.

Still didnt strain and screech as much as Sam did through most of Balance, if someone is being fair about it.

I do not hear Kermit the Frog yelps in MWM whatsoever.

    CGTSNM sucks.

Haven't heard it in a while, yet two that instantly come to mind are the high pitched yelping right before the 'I am you and you are me' parts, and a horrid 'Whoa' or two before the fadeout.

There is no yelping before I am You and you are me. Same old Dave rock.

Honestly, MWM was the last great VH song.

I don't know all the lyrics, yet you don't here it on the part(s) that sound like 'Screeching for a place in time'?

I honestly don't hate the song, and thought the vocals in the verses we're cool. Dave, even back then, shouldn't have gone (or tried to) out of his comfort zone.

MWM is a top 30 all time VH tune I'd say, and might make it into the top 20.

Honestly, to each their own, but if Dave is yelping in MWM, then WTF is Sam doing on Dont Tell Me and the outro to Feelin? Now, for me, those are some painful vocals.

Again, I think Dave is in fine form in MWM. Some of the harmonies in MWM are among VH's best.

Agree on 96% (wink wink) of the tune. Disagree on the other 4%.
Again, I loved it when it came out, and still like it overall. Yet that was my first intro to the Kermit yelps which helped taint Dave's vocals - to me.

And yup, the harmonies are cool.
Truth be told? I would've preferred Eddie not using a wah on the solo, although the Sustainer during the outro was epic.

    Nevermind Learning To See's outro...

DLR's vocal character is half of what makes MWM so great.
