    -hire a vocal coach

    -quit smoking and drinking

    -sing...use your voice every day.

Patty Smythís, Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, and the Botchelliís (and that other guy) voices all remain strong because they sing every day and have done so for their entire career.

He may not recover his voice fully to 2007/2008, but it would improve...the band may also have to tune down.

How do you know he was even referring to you? Not everything on this board pertains to you. Maybe heís suspicious of the original post?

If they ever reconvene, I really hope all these things happen. The mighty VH needs to go out on top.

Despite Fudds attempts to get me to be the president of the Squalen fan club I think everyone knows I'm not that guy.

That said, he is 100% correct in this thread. 07 was the best Dave sang since Wacf tour. 04-10 Dave was killer vocally. Since he simply has not had control of his diaphragm well. His adjustment was to hit the gas which meant he slipped a gear and went high. He really only adjusted by forcing less air rather than more mid way through the 15 tour, specifically the Bristow show onward. His range is intact, his control is the variable almost like a transmission slipping a middle gear and unable to hold it. Power, well he was never a power guy ever and is now 10 years older. Early 50s to early 60s is a bitch of a decade. But why does he sound ok and the horrible really comes down to control. Now he also should add reverb to his mic but refuses, surprise a stubborn artist yeah most of them are.

When it comes to VH, I am in fact often correct. The best part is, I don't even need to be. 9 times outta 10 my op is the majority op. It's only the fringe wackadoos that take such great exception to my "wild out there takes."

Like you know...how the mainstream doesn't care whether it's Dave or Sam singing. Like how Fair Warning rawks. Like how VH3 sucks. Like how VH without Mike ain't real VH. Like how Randy Rhoads didn't suck.

Wacky shit for some buckaroos.........status quo for us normies.

Heck, we all know who the president of the VS fan club is.

Dave just needs to stay in his range and try and sing over the top.

See, man? It doesn't always have to be razor blade candy apples. Sometimes VH is just VH.

To you and me, it's pretty friggin' obvious Dave was singing an A game in '07 for the first time in decades. For others, less so. It's hard to be objective about one's favorite band, I get that. But I have no problem doing it, because it doesn't affect my enjoyment of neither the studio work nor the tour memories I've incurred.
