I still like Balance, think it holds up song and sound wise. I remember "Can't Stop Lovin' You" and "Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)" being played on the radio. If I had to pick one "lesser known song" it would be "Take Me Back (Déjà Vu)," but there are a lot of good songs on that album.

Yep. Take Me Back for me.

Probably my second favorite cut after Aftershock.
The only genre I really know is Van Halen.

I really don't remember what songs got airplay back then. Had three kids and was probably watching Barney. I did get to check out the gig at The Mark, in Moline IL.

I don't post here much at all.... but had to chime in when no one had mentioned quite possibly the greatest instrumental of all time!
    Baluchitherium is awesome!

I like Seventh Seal too... a lot of people say it sounds like Poundcake, but Seventh Seal is a minor key jam. I can hear some similarities in the rhythm style... I love the searing guitar sound Ed has on that.

Balance was the first VH record I bought since 1984. I still have issues with the vocals on that record, except for, surprisingly - Amsterdam.

I used to really like Balance, but as the years went on, there’s only 4 tracks for me that are good too to bottom, I find significant flaws in the rest
    7th Seal
    Aftershock
    Take me Back
    And Feelin

Well and as an instrumental Baluchitheriam is cool

7th Seal is my fav of those

The rest of the album, I haven’t listened to in over 10 years

First couple weeks they were playing different stuff. Take Me back, Amsterdam, Aftershock. After that it became DTMWLCD, and Can't Stop from then on.

I have heard Take Me Back and Amsterdam on Classic radio. It's usually when they do block party weekends. Classic radio has gone a little deeper with VH tunes the past ten years. I've heard Whiskey, Hail, Little Guitars during block parties.

I think they're going deeper with the Sam stuff, though. Mine all Mine, AFU, Sucker, Take Me Back, Good Enough...
It's not the usual pop playlist it's been forever.

This reminded me of the Balance era.

What a cool looking Wolfgang, too.

I really dig Balance. The production is unreal. Ed's music was as deep as his mood. It brought out some great stuff in Sammy, too.

I liked it better before I knew about this song.
