I respect Mike's comment regarding how he was treated in 2004. If I were Mike, then I would have my people say, "Yeah, Mike wil participate in a reunion when all of his rights are restored and he is made an equal partner. Oh, and Eddie has to admit in every press conference that Mike taught him how to play Eruption."

The fact that this was apparently in the works (Hell froze over) gives me hope for another unlikely scenario ; Sammy & Mike back for another tour. Or geez, the BOBW thing that so many want!

Would love to see the original four, and then another incarnation. Y'know, just to be fair with the closure aspect and respecting fans etc.

I think saying this proves something was in motion is like saying I almost went on a date with Scarlett Johansson because I left a message at her manager's office asking if I could get her number so I could ask her out.

And yeah, I know it's just how it is but it's frustrating that 60+ year olds who are supposedly professionals have to essentially pass notes like 4th grade girls... And I know that's not just a VH thing, but damn.

The whole thing just doesn't pass the smell test. I mean the possibility of this ever becoming reality. Eddie smiling on stage playing with a guy that he can't even directly talk to and is taking his son's spot? Can you imagine the first rehearsal? "Hey man, sooo...... sorry about erasing you from history and telling people you couldn't play and trying to get rid of you for decades and not even bothering to tell you that you were fired from your career job but, um..... you ready to jam?"
Mike: Man, what was up with all those shots you took at me in Billboard?

Ed: (laughing) Come on, man...a little good old fashioned ribbing, it was all in fun!

    I disagree, respectfully.

I remember prior to ADKOT when everyone online was deflated and not expecting anything. Surprisingly, JD and myself were two of the posters (not here) saying "Keep the faith" etc.

And when another drought started, then we find out that they had at least opened the vault, to try and comb through that vintage material for the fans? It tells me that they do have moments of trying to give us what we want... Wolf picking the deep cuts for the tour(s) is another example. I said I would love to see the original four. I meant it. I also would love to see the second era get another chance, and this time an honest one.

    I won't apologize for that.

I believe Mike. He's the only one associated with Van Halen that seems the most normal, and hardly opens his mouth up about anything.

Nobody asked you to apologize, kitty cat.

The second era had its closure. You may not have liked it. I myself had a fuckin GREAT show in LA. One of my very favorites in fact.

However, there is nothing to be deflated nor pumped up about currently, since nobody can make sour grapes nor cherry pies out of nothing at all.

Point was, you shopped the Sammy groceries in another unrelated tangent.

So, if Dave exits stage right, and the brothers exit stage left, does that mean Mikey has to climb through that trap door that goes under the stage?

It's very possible this is something management floated without Eddie's knowledge or consent.

The best indication of future behavior is past behavior and Eddie has shown the world his true colors in multiple interviews throughout the years.

If it ever gets off the ground the vibe on stage will probably be fine. Ed doesn't care for Dave and they are smiling and hugging onstage. It's all a show, and onstage they can act like it's 1979 all over again, and never see each other outside of the show other than for practice sessions.

If everyone involved really wanted this to become a reality, it would've been ironed out already. Its pretty simple.

I'm inclined to believe something is going on w/ one of the brothers (likely Ed). Hopefully it's not health related. Dave is out and about - and dropped hints earlier this year - so it's not him. Wolfs album is done (at least according to him it is) - so I doubt it'd be that.
