    If I could only pick one it would probably be Romeo Delight. All four members are highlighted in some way in that breakdown.

    The breakdown in your all-time favorite VH tune doesn't exactly suck, either.

    Question:

    The VH2 tour ends in Oct 79, and then they go into pre-production for WACF that they record in Dec 79 (before they release it in Mar 80).

    Ed always tells the story of just him and Alex jamming the Cradle verse section over and over and not being able to find a chorus riff to attach to it. They said they jammed all day for weeks trying to build this song's parts up.

    Question I have... does anybody from LA know WHERE they rehearsed/pre-produced in late 79? I know Ed still lived at home at this point. Did they routinely rent specific space somewhere, or did the brothers have open access to Dave's Pasadena basement to go over and jam?

    I've always wondered where the Brothers, as a twosome, developed the VH2 and WACF songwriting. I know by Fair Warning Ed had bought a house and was all set up.

    Just like you and probably most of us here, I've always read the Dave's parents basement story and stuff.

    Which Van Halen song has your favorite all around performance from Michael Anthony?

    The first one that comes to mind for me is In A Simple Rhyme.

    That must have taken Ed months to teach Mike how to play that.

    When you listen to a bass heavy mix of "Mean Street", you can really hear how "She's the Woman" is basically the same song in many ways

    Well, the breakdown in Mean Street did come from the breakdown in the demo version of She's The Woman.

    A lot of those Warner Bros. demos sound similar, guitar wise;

    - A string note gallops.
    - Two string diads (D & G strings).
    - Phase 90 on the solos.
    - A lot of Ed's licks having similar patterns etc.

    Just saying.
