Lost a lot of bands in the ‘80s, others weren’t what they once were, but some were still excelling

Still, by the middle of the decade I was ready to change the station

Was just cranking this the other day.

"He has a swaggering retro machismo that will give hives to the Steinem cabal" -Camille Paglia on Donald Trump

"But, fucking with Brook is like fucking with hot shit on and ax handle. You just don't get a grip"-track5

"Make way for the bad guy"- Tony Montana

'This hamburger don't need no helper"- David Lee Roth

"I wish Bon Jovi would've given me a call before he recorded all of his hits, because the lyrics would've been smarter, the melodies would've been much more smashing, and they would've sold a lot fewer records." -David Lee Roth

"My beef is people thinking Bon Jovi is good cuz they sold lots of records to housewives." -tango

"But being number one doesn’t really mean jack fuck all. We sold twice as many records as other records that year (1984) that landed in the Number One position." ~Eddie Van Halen

    Just my opinion, though.
I’ve gone back and discovered some really great stuff...but as far as being exposed to it then? For me it wasn’t like the 80s music, where it was current as I was discovering it.

At the time England was deep into House Music when I was there...

I agree with you that it was the last great decade for rock...even if Nirvana never did anything for me.

I do remember Chumbawomba & Hootie...and I did get to see U2 in St Louis in ‘92...loved the album Achtung Baby...I remember listening to Zoo Station riding on the train in Berlin and stopping at ‘the’ Zoo Station...loved that Sony Discman.

I can relate a little. I moved to another state in '96. Between the move and starting a new job, 1996 and '97 were lost too me.
Movies, TV....pretty missed everything those years.

    Always loved this one...

I loved seeing women more prominent in music. Some great voices and songwriters graced us. Lilith was in full domination, of course..
Great live version. Way more rockin' than the studio version.
